I just bought a very cheap, very beat up 1977 Olympia Traveller de Luxe. It has several keys bent like this, and now I know what to look for as I'm trying to figure out a fix. I really liked how you walked us through the troubleshooting steps in a logical, intuitive way. Thank you so much!
Well done Joe, the angle of the link ends are usually the cause of the problem, occasionally links would break and we have to twist the ends to the required angle.......you picked the line space detent roll as being the culprit
Great production and quality. I’ve never tried to do the multi angle edits or get into the professional realm of video production. It seems very involved.
Hello, I'm your fan who lives in Korea. Do you know about the Korean typewriter? There was also a Korean typwriter company. But The company went bankrupt a long time ago. The imported English typewriter is remodeled and used. There is only one person left who can renovate. He also upload some videos on youtube. In the Korean typewriter, the carriage does not move even if you press seven special vowel keys. I think It would be a special experience if you could find it. I'll stay on your channel.
Some people could happily leave it nearly level. Some other people would be bugged by that every time they saw it, and would find it absolutely impossible to leave it like that.
If it’s a plastic key cap, usually yes. If it is an older style with the metal rings on the keys, you can incriminating the rings and swap the key legends, but recrimping the rings are tricky.
