What grit sandpaper do you use for bondo on a steel door? I just purchased a house and the previous owners used bondo on it and never finished it, my palm sander isn't making a dent to smooth out the bondo so I must be using the wrong grit?
120 grit is the lowest one should use for doors and will work to remove the Bondo or layered paint. After that use 240 or 320 before painting for a smooth surface. I’m doing my door tmrw
I liked everything about this video, except for the destruction of that beautiful brass door fixture. Did you really have to destroy it? Just because it was popular in the 1980s, doesn't mean it's BAD! You could easily have sold it to somebody who wants that high quality, heavy brass that you probably can't buy anymore, and bought a new brushed nickel fixture. I'm sure that paint is going to wear off pretty damn quickly, and you're going to be left with a scratched up, paint-peeling brass door fixture in no time.
