I'm new to 3d printing, juat got an anycubic kobra 2 max so i can print a full-size helmet. Im curious which filament you recommend for helmets, armor, and prop weapons? thanks in advance.

Your channel and your videos are the reason I have a 3D printer and why I'm In the process of making my own custom Mandalorian suit. I've always wanted to make my own suit of si-fi armor, and you helped me realize that maybe it isn't as hard as I thought. So, thanks for making the videos that you make.

One thing I've found that is awesome to use for seams or cracks is a 3d pen to weld them back. It's super sturdy and works really well. Another thing...save your mistake prints and get a plastic weld solvent, such as Plastruct, then cut your mistake prints into small pieces and let them dissolve in a glass container. This will make an awesome plastic glue that also holds very very well.

For crack repairs I like to use an off cut of fabric in an appropriate colour. Use a few drops of CA to get it into place than soak it on CA. it’s going to stink but it goes rock hard when its cures and it’s sort of like lazy fibreglass.

that's such a smart idea!

Hi Vaultfox! Just wanted to say that I love your videos and have been following your Mandalorian and Bo-Katan videos closely in order to create my own armour, so I can’t thank you enough for your awesome content!

Thank you so so much!!! I’m glad they help, good luck with your builds! Idk if I’ll ever make two huge armor builds at the same time again but it was def an experience 😅

More of a helmet question, when scaling something like a Mando helmet, you do you account for the divets in the cheeks to fit your head?
@vaultfox
@vaultfox Год назад
good question! depends on the model used (this one from Mystery Makers didn't have extremely deep divets on the cheeks) but another file I used did and I would go into Meshmixer and cut a slice of the helmet around the cheek area and print the widest bit out to tweak the fit
