Finding a loose nut leads to checking the whole assembly.
Finding a nut laying on the floor under the recliners foot rest I suspected that there might be a problem. 😎

Just think if we had gone to the doctor. Slapped into the hospital and catch everything all at once. I caught it from Lydia, but never had the test. We took turns improving and rlapsing so we could take care of each other. Drove me nuts wanting to work but spent most of our time asleep. Robitusen and Tylenol got us through.

I recently bought a Lane Comfort King rocker/recliner and watched your video. I don't know which model you have but mine doesn't have any of the bolts like yours. My problem is that the chair leans back too far and is impossible to sit upright. Do you know how to adjust that?

Those chairs are great. We got one for Dottie after her surgery and it was a life saver. Her's is electric as she did not have the muscle to move the chair mechanically so we got her a motorized one. I told her it was my chair and I would let her borrow it. I almost never get to use it and I might have to buy her one so I can get some reclining time in. I used to play on my grandpa's recliner but I love em now they are so relaxing. Heck I could even go for a manual one. You and Lydia need to get as much sun as you can. Vitamin D ya know. Where is the south side on your house? Out front? If it is you guys could even sit in the garage and get some sun and still be out of the wind and it's a bit warmer there when it's cool out. May the Great Healer heal you guys up good as new and soon.

Dottie has a heating pad on the back of her chair, it's either that or ice packs for her neck. Gotta do whatcha gotta do to feel better.
@OldSneelock
@OldSneelock 3 года назад
Nut in both places, but they are back where they belong. We bought matching chairs. Mine first then hers a few months later. Glad you are able to get Dottie comfortable. You both had a rough time. I bought a giant heating pad for Lydia. Covers her whole back. Good advice on the sun. I am out picking sticks and cleaning every day. Lydia comes out with me but could be out more.

@@OldSneelock You can take V D supplements but they are not as good as natural sunlight from our Creator. Sometimes when I'm sick or exhausted I don't want to even get out of bed but we need to get that fresh air and sunlight. Heck I could even take a nap outside in the sun. Kill two2 birds with one stone. Maybe set a timer though so I don't get crispy. Don't wanna be a marinaded Marty.

The mechanism takes a beating. I have worn out 4 of them. The fjrst was a cheap wall away model from 1972. From then on it has been Lazyboy or Lane. When Ryan was little he would sit with me in the recliner. Our 80 lb black lab Stella started sitting on my lap as a puppy. Eventually all three of us were in the chair and it collapsed when the frame crushed. 380 lb combined was just too much. 😁😎

@OldSneelock Год назад
@@henry7049er If only we were resourceful enough to spend a little time checking everything before we bought it and demanded a parts list and schematic of the assembly. Just think how many times that would be useful. Check and see if there are holes or a mounting point for a stop on the mechanism that limits travel on the back. That might be where the washer came from.

Sounds like missing bolts, or springs stretched or broken. I have had both. Check the linkages. Both sides should match. If one has a bolt and the other doesn't that is a red flag and the bolt should be replaced. Same for springs.
