Thank you for making me feel confident and able to tackle this job myself! Total time for repair in my driveway was less time than I would have spent waiting to check my ar in to the dealer's shop (and OOOOOOOO the monies I saved!)
Great video. Very detailed. My passenger side front window is a bit loose and rattles a bit (seems to be in the up and down direction) when going up and down (especially when it comes to a stop). I'm thinking it could be one of three things: The plastic clips at the bottom of glass that receive the two bolts that attach it to regulator have come apart/loose from glass. The bolts connecting window to regulator are loose. The regulator mechanism is worn or bolts holding it too door are loose. Any thoughts? Thanks!
UK Spec Corolla 2002 Driver side roof leak - current issue 1 year with a F. passenger side window not working, big wooden blank lodged to stop it falling. Installed a regulator w. motor (£35.00) and it worked until the window began going down automatically when I close or open driver door. 2 nights with window fully down and valuables inside. Both sides are wet due to driver side leak n open window. I opened it up and disconnected the motor from the switch and main switch on motor. Lovely and reliable cars with comfy seats. You can say I am living a nightmare as it rains all the time in the UK!
I have an issue: I have fixed this more than once, but it seems that my window continues to work its way off track. no power issue. I never followed this blue-taping the window idea; I took it out completely. What would be a good recommendation for aligning the window with the track? Someone please save me from having another headache with this. Thank you for your time!
Great video. I have a question that you may be able to help me with. I drive a 2010 Toyota Rav4 and when I was powering my window, I heard something metallic sounding fall downward inside of my door. Then afterwards when I lowered my window I noticed that it was tilting abnormally downward. Any idea what may have happened and how to fix it?
If the window is stuck all the way down and the motor/regulator is inoperable, how do you raise the window so you have access to the bolts that hold it to the regulator? That is my dilemma on a 2006 Matrix.
Is it possible for the clip on the bottom of the window to break . My driver's side window will go down toward the mirror which I call the front, the back part of window will go down as long as I push it to keep it aligned with the front,If I don't it wants to get all off track and gets stuck. Just a pain in the butt.
no windscreen to shield the microphone from wind noise and I cannot see what he is doing to install the regulator. This is the important part of the replacement.... knowing how to install the new part!
Thanks for the helpful video. At the 5:33 mark, there is a yellow block of cheese part attached to the door panel. Could you help identify what that part is?
my motor isnt working. and the window is closed. is there a manual way to lower the window so that i can use the access hole to unblock the glass from the regulator arm?
One of the white blocks that hold the window in place have broken on my car. Any idea what these are called and can they be replaced? In other words, how are they attached to the windowpane?
The problem in hearing you was the wind blowing on the microphone. Then I couldn't see thru you as to how the window was disconnected. Then securing the window was off camera.
all the wind noise and speeded-up video does not help us. This assumes replacing a regulator/motor that works. And if it does not? Explain that .i And what if the window does not rise/lower normally even in the motor and regulator work? Explain that asw well..... those are real problems to deal with.
