I will show you how to replace the Thermostat on a True GDM-10, and where to Order the Thermostat for the Refrigerator. The True GDM-10, 12 , and 26 are all very similar, to replace. It is easy to do.

Were you able to get your job done. True and Beverage Air are similar, in access to the thermostat, in top of the drink compartment. The pigtail will only go in so far, sometimes. You do the best you can. It helps to have someone with a small hand.
Mark, I was trying to replace the thermostat but the old on in the unit is "Danfoss/077F1311RU" cant find it anywhere. It is not the one in the parts manual. Can you help. Also, the old part has 3 connections (1 White-2 Pink). Thanks.
A friend of mine just gave me a GDM-12 for free, I’m using it as a beer fridge. The only issue is that there is fog in between the 2 glass panes in the door. Is there a way to clean it? Thanks
No, it has broken seal between the panes. Wish I could say it fixable, but no. They only way is keep you eyes open for a broken fridge. Take the door off of it.
How do you know when we need to replace the thermostat? Mine is running ok (holding around 40 degree) except it frequently run the machine to cool the fridge. I suspect it is a air leak due to the condition of door seal gasket. So should I replace the gasket or thermostat in this case? Thank you in advance.
If your door seal is leaking, it won't hold temp, constant, so the compressor will kick on and run. I would replace the door seal. About $60 on eBay. Make sure you get the correct one. Call True, to get the correct Seal, using the Serial Number.

@@Cathyscake When you cannot get it to hold at about 35 degrees. You should be able to dial it in, under 40. Those thermostats get old and just won't do right. plus, it should be pretty simple to dial it in, if moving the control causes huge temp swings, that's a problem.
@@manko717 mine is around 40 for now. I don't think I can get lower than that. But 40 is ok too me. The only annoying thing is it keeps on and off so I hope replacing the gasket will fix
If you are maxed out on the control and 40 is all you can get, you must have a really bad gasket. Gaps? Once you do the door gasket, and you can't back the control off any, you might need a thermostat.
Check the shroud around the fan. It’s made of like a cardboard material. You can pull it out of there. Sometimes the blades hit the shroud. You can pull it all out from the back side. Unplug it first. Then plug it back in, after you pull out that cardboard shroud
Mine was cold to the point of freezing and then not cold at all and then it stopped getting cold all together and making a loud noise so I unplugged it. Do you think it is the thermostat
Hey mark! just purchased a used unit just like the one in your video . Not sure if the thermostat Is working properly. It goes down to around 8 and can’t regulate the temp. It sounds like it is constantly working unlike my house fridge that kicks on and off. Any idea what the problem might be ?
Is it Cold. If it’s cold, it’s more than likely the thermostat. If the thermostat cannot detect the temp, it will keep running. If the temp is in the 30s or worse below 32, that’s not good for the compressor. Shut it down and order a thermostat. Don’t burn up your compressor

If the thermostat is getting old, you might be maxed out, turned Clockwise, all the way. With a New Thermostat, working correctly, possibly Halfway, or a little more. You have to get it dialed in - but only move it just a little bit, when you get close. A whole number is way too much, when you get close. I’m talking only moving it 1/4 of an inch.

Thermostat needs to be replaced. Put a decent thermometer in there. I Oder them off eBay. Taylor Thermometers. I buy 2, so I can check with both. Great the fridge gets cold, but you don’t want it freezing. Not good for the unit. Unplug it and order a thermostat. I think I included the information to order in my video.

The weird thing is that only some of the drinks freeze I would say like 5 glass sodas out of 100 that’s in the unit. I am still going to replace the thermostat it won’t hurt any. I back off the temperature knob to 5-1/2 from 7 and put a new thermometer will check if it makes any difference in 24 hrs..
They want the model number of the fridge. If it’s a True, look in the upper left inside of fridge. It should be 7 numbers, upper left, just right of something like GDM-12
They shouldn't be. If it is, you may have a compressor problem or check the coil fan underneath. If it is coming from inside, could be the evaporator fan, in the top. But no, they shouldn't be loud. When they cycle on, they are louder than a house refrigerator.
Mine is holding at 20 degrees. I can't get it to go warmer which is freezing everything I put in there. I ordered a new thermostat. Hopefully this fixes it.
More than likely the thermostat. You are lucky because you know it has plenty of Freon. I would unplug the refrigerator until you get your thermostat. Not good to run them below freezing.

@@stacielaflamme8774 very easy, just pull the temp knob off. Remove the two screws that hold the plate up. It will dangle down, because the two wires will be connected. Mark one with a sharpie, so you can remember which terminal to put each on on the new. Pull the pig tail out of the tube. If you have small hands it will be easy inserting the new one. It’s hard to get the original amount back in, but as long as you a fair amount in, it will work.
