It's true that the OP frustratingly never removed the battery, but all you have to do is slide a small flathead screwdriver under the battery and raise it up past the sides of its plastic nest; the PC board will lift up with it. Take care not to short anything out because if the battery has any juice you could easily fry the PC board. (Come to think of it...use something plastic!) The battery is a Tenergy Li-Ion 14500 3.6V 750mah flat top WITH TABS - that's important otherwise you'll need a spot welder to attach the tabs and leads. You can buy the battery straight from the manufacturer for about eight dollars cheapest shipping. They also have them on Amazon for a lot less but you have to buy a whole bunch of them.
Thanks for showing us how to take it apart, anyway. I removed the battery and soldered the two battery wires back to the charging port terminals. Obviously, I'll need to use the power cord when using it. No big deal to me. I love these clippers. Too bad they have a short life with the battery.
Totally agree with you. Just wasted over 8 mins of my time watching some idiot fiddling around with his multimeter. And he didn't seem that 'expert' with it either as he simply kept trying to find connections without seeming to know what he was doing.
I'm looking at this video because my trusty Quickcut of 6+ years finally stopped accepting a charge. It's a solid product if you ask me. I'd replace the battery and keep truckin' if it was any simpler to do.
