Thanks, gotta do my brother's pads after work! I'll make sure lug nuts are torqued to 100ft pounds. Caliper pin with bushings on the top! Thanks for the brief and precise display!

Thanks for the video, it answered my question! Also, if the rotors have a lip on them indicating that they're worn, it would be smart to measure their width to make sure they're still in spec.

Yes it would be a good idea to measure them with or with out a lip. The lip may have been ground off if they were resurfaced before.

@@GrimRepair true. I don't know of too many mechanics that bother with resurfacing anymore, but you're right, it's better to be safe than sorry.

Thought the wear bar goes on the inside of the rotor.

Hey have a question I'm hoping u can answer. I have the same buick lacrosse. Ive notice on the 2005 model buick lesabres they come with factory 15" rims. Can I use the 15" brake calipers and rotors on my buick lacrosse?

I am not sure. That sounds like it would be a downgrade though. Smaller wheels usually mean smaller brakes. Can I ask why you want to make the swap?

So do you need to bleed the brakes?
@GrimRepair
@GrimRepair 7 месяцев назад
You should not need to bleed them, if you didn't get air in the system.

So why do people say you need a caliper compression tool to “screw” the piston back down…I had thought I could just do same thing you did with a flat head and open the reservoir press on the rotor like that. I got a 05 I gotta do front and rear rotors and pads.
@GrimRepair
@GrimRepair Год назад
There are cars where you do need a caliper windback tool. Those type of calipers are always on the rear.

What’s the name of the orange/red tool you used to take off the two bolts in the back of the caliper ?

@@jarrede427 give me a time stamp of what bolt you're talking about. The ones that hold the caliper to the braket or the one that hold the braket to the spindle?
