Thanks Lloyd my sons friends all come over here to work on their cars... Lol... He's good at putting in car stereos and them Boom base speakers, amps and digital things like that. Thank you for the corner stop.!!
I appreciate the video! I have to replace the Left front headlight on my parents 2005 Buick LaCrosse CXL. So between your video and reading some comments I am going to try. Keep your fingers crossed for me! Lol Thanks again!
Well man I made it look good.!! But we had a problem Huston... one of the after market lamps did not work... had to take it out and fix the plug on the new lamp then reinstall. So we're pretty good with the how to thing now... Lol... Thank you for the corner stop.!!
Is there any trick to get the main plug out when pulling the old assembly? I used a screwdriver for a tab on the turn signal plug but the main one is a mystery? Thanks.
There is a release catch, get the light assembly out and turn over while still plugged in. It is tricky.... then you can get to the release tab easier.
My sons friends come over here to fix stuff and his grand parents gave this car to my son's friend and he's fix'n it up nicely.!! Thanks JJ for the comment.!!
Yea man Driveshaft said they got a bit of snow up there... We just been running the air during the day and the furnace at night...Lol... That's Iowa for ya...If you don't like the weather just wait an hour.!!.. Thank you for the corner stop Mr Herf.!!
You know what's funny is that I now do what it is that most Canadians hate .... I generalize Canada as if it were a city rather than a country with a land mass bigger than that of the States ... The range in climate because of it's size differ's as much as that from Michigan to Florida .... I don't remember which Provence Drew lives in but here in Windsor, Ontario "which borders with Detroit Michigan" it's now 75 degrees Fahrenheit at midnight and I haven't shut down my A.C. yet .... The thing with Canada is that it's so vast with it's natural resources which is another way of saying "Lots of trees, beavers and snow" is so ridiculously far from our civilized society which clings onto the U.S. border like an indoor colony of ants to a radiator in December, all of that natural resource which take's manpower to exploit ..... Well they must be a mutation between Man and Polar Bear because no normal Joe could possibly endure that kind of climatic Hell .... or Anti Hell.
You and Brandon did good Pappy. I shoulda videoed replacing my lawnmower clutch. Another yahoo for the DIY. Good to see younger guys doing something mechanical. Amazing what cars are put together with now.
Yes my son and his friends like to come to the corner and work on their cars. Then I get a free DIY... Lol... Thank you for the corner stop my friend.!! I try to share what mechanical knowledge as I can.
I have an '07 LaCrosse, I need to pull the headlight assembly, just to change the turn signal bulb. I'm disappointed in this video. I know how to do it, I was hoping you'd show an EASY way to do it. The fact that you skipped all the wiggling, fidgeting, and fighting to get the damn thing out really bothers me. You cut the important stuff. It's a huge pain in the ass with that piece that goes through the middle, between high & low beams. It wold be nice if you showed another way to change the front turn signal bulb, if there is one
Hay I feel ya.!! I try to prepare myself mentally ... we can only be happy it's not a Mazda... Lol ... Now that's a bulb challenge for ya.!!....... thank you for the corner stop and drop.!!
Yea, suprised they failed to mention that you can easily end up bending the pointy part of the body above the larger light wrestling it out of there like someone had done previously.
Working on these new cars can be a pain. They are engineered to last so long then you dispose of them. But fixers can keep em on the road.!! I had fun with the boys making this DIY.!!
Good Job on something not so simple, but you knocked it out. Good results, nice bright lights. Thanks for sharing and enjoy the rest of your week Buddy. BigW:-)
Well my sons friends come here to the corner and work on cars. Mainly stereos and them boom box base speakers. It's fun to show em how to be cool without all that car shaking base music... Lol... Thank you for the corner stop.!!
Glad this wasn't complicated! LOL! As much "rocket science" was needed here, you made it seem so easy! With all the ways cars have become complicated, it is so refreshing to see someone still take the old school approach to diy; and who actually has the knowledge to do this kind of work! It's a great skill to be able to have! I am jealous!
I simply detest those plastic European head lights, I know it's cheaper to make than glass but I'll take sealed beam every time,, that is if I had a choice.
I agree, many a night we have polished the plastic lenses trying to make em clear. They an't that cheap either it was around $125.00 for the pair. Plus one didn't work (I edited it out) we had to fix the plug on the back of the new lamp. But I enjoy gett'n a fix in there with my son and his friends when I can... Lol... Thanks for stopping by Vern.!!
@@PappysCorner Yes, quite the job, I just bought a 2005 Allure with only 60,000 miles on it, passed safety with flying colors, but mechanic wanted the lenses cleaned. I did it but was still kind of dull. Was thinking of buying new ones, but after seeing your video, not going to do it. I do as much as I can unless it get too complicated. Thanks for the video!!!!!
