In this video we have a time lapse of in the removal and replacement of a hp pavilion slimline motherboard. In real time it took about 15 minutes. Let me know if you have any questions in the comments
good video I appreciate you took the time out of your time to video this and uploading it thanks, I'm going to school right now currently and this really helps me get into more depth on removing the old motherboard and replacing it with a new one basically giving a crab a new shell for it.
Was the cooling fan you took out just after opening the case a standard install, or just certain models? Do you have a video where you take apart the DVD player like the one removed here? Thank you 🤓 can an ITX motherboard fit in that case? I got a hold of an HP Slimline Pavilion with Win Vista
Hello. I have a hp pavilion slimline s5000 series, it looks like my board is not doing good. No display, no lights on both kb and mouse. Can I change my mobo with modern microAtx board? Or is there a solution for my pc? Thanks
i had one of these machines it was an hp pavillion s5 1020, these slimline computers are only suited for people who never have any intention to do any upgrading or run any intensive applications, and that's because of the size of the cases and power supplies, these 2 components are the main culprits that limit how much hardware can be added to the system later, now you can upgrade the processors, memory and add dedicated low profile video cards inside of them, but in general its best to simply have a regular size desktop computer so that if anything happens to any of the components the parts can be replaced easier and cheaper rather than a smaller itx build like this one.
I guess they are still called PCs! They are good for small business or home use, not employing process intense programs but regular use. I think these can be upgraded to a certain degree, but a real tower is best! Thank you 🤓
These computers are good for home offices and regular use, not for gamers. They normally come with around a 200w power supply. You can change the mother boards, cpu with onboard graphics, ram etc They waste very little energy compared to the big box computers that come with 5-700w power supplies and the energy hog graphics cards.
I have a HP Pavilion s7000 desktop computer. I was wondering if there was any upgrades that were possible for this computer, as it is quite slim so I'm not sure if anything will fit in it. Also the power supply might not be strong enough. Anything to make it usable again for word processing or very light gaming. Thank You
+Phoenix Stopmotions with the money you'd spend updating a 10 year old computer, you'd be better off finding something used on eBay/classifieds/Amazon I'd get something like this amzn.to/2yz6Xy5
I've seen someone selling a Dell XPS 8100 in a HP Slimline case. I would like to upgrade my old desktop and being able to use the small Slimline form factor. Do you think can be done using most of the components of the HP (power, fans, memory card reader, pocket media bay, etc) and just an XPS motherboard upgrade? Or can you think of "modern" Intel i7 upgrade using a dated HP Slimline tower? Thank you.
I know this answer is 3 years to late, but I just came across this video. I have models S5-1210t, 1310t and 1554. All pretty much have the same back screw, which requires a flat head screwdriver or T15H Torx bit. I've used both.
Tengo está tarjeta madre M2N61-AR Y me gustaría saber que tarjeta de vídeo puedo ponerle. También el procesador más avanzado que pueda soportar Gracias
Hi, I bought an Intel Q9550 Core 2 Quad 2.83GHz however when I installed it on the s5220y slimline it says CPU not recognize and will not continue to boot up. Is there a way to update the BIOS to recognize the Q9550 chip or should I just order a new motherboard? If so, which mother board do you suggest to replace the one in this PC?
Nice....just forget about them "extra" cables. What you were attempting to reconnect was the eject button cable for the optical drive, but you had the cable from the front memory card reader....that's why the plug wouldn't fit. You needed the other two lead mini plug with both black leads to plug into the back of the optical drive. Either way, it wouldn't affect startup and testing of the system.
+Jerome Griffin I believe it is a 9 pin USB header. It was a customer computer so I do this have it anymore. If you want to send me a picture through my website, I'd be happy to help.
I figured it out. The cable he was trying to plug into the DVD drive is left unplugged on my motherboard. I found out that it is some kind of LAN light that isn't on my model. I just saw the thing unplugged and thought I had pulled it out. Thanks so much for the quick reply.
What kind of gaming Graphics card can I install in the slimline because my pc is like the pc in the video please reply and what kind of power supply can i put in there lastly My motherboard is the same as the board in the video can i replace it with a smaller one?
thanks for reply, but i cant download the driver into the system, bcos the system still have not installed the windows. hard drive is black and keyboard doesn't work on boot.
"Nothing to see here" 1.4ghz with no upgrade, memory upgrade why? Made the mistake, now it's and old suit in the closet I got hold of a s5-1015t swapped out the front panel, I'm feeling better about a $200 mistake in life.
