My S550's windshield washer pump stops working with luckless. I ordered a new one and then replace it today. Here is how I replaced it.

Great video. I just finished this repair on my 2013 S550. Thank you so much. The tip to use the long reach pliers was great and saved the day. Couldn't have gotten the pump connected without that. Very helpful.

I just want to thank you for posting this video. I've had to change mine, and this made it much easier, also having the part number for the pump was extremely useful. I also like your intro to the video. From business attire to vehicle business attire.

我也换过这种泵,另外储水罐的泵孔有个垫圈,时间长了有渗水问题。😄

Hi Senior Leigh, phenomenal video! I had a couple of questions that I wanted to ask. How long did the pump last, in miles and time? Did you figure out what it would spray the headlights but not the windshield? When you pull off the cap of the reservoir, there is two metal tubes that go into the tank. One side is straight, but the other metal line is coiled. Is it some sort of heater to keep the water from freezing? At the 3:08 mark, you were taking off the pump, but there is something blue. Is that an electrical connection or a strainer to prevent deposits running through the pump? The pliers that you used to connect the hose, is that an item you need to buy for the job? Would any long reach needle nose pliers work? If not, do you have a brand & part number? Lastly, I have seen your videos on the E350. I know the sprayers on the E350 mist the water all over the windshield. Have you found any way to change the sprayers from a dual stream on the S550 to a sprayer that mists like on the E350? A thousand thanks for taking your time to make these videos!

Thanks for your compliment. Let me try to answer your questions. It is approx 80,000miles and 8 years of my S550. The headlights will be sprayed when I press the switch 10th times. Yes, the metal coil in the reservoir is a heater from the coolant system. The blue one is an electric heater too, to prevent the pump nozzle freezing. For the plier, that is a regular long reach nose plier (I list a link for the plier in "show more" under the video). Actually, I can push the outlet hose on by my hand but that is too tight to fit anyone can do that, also for the space for the shooting by the camera, I don't wanna the audience can not see what happened with the operation. I think the E350's sprayer was improved that doesn't mount at engine hood like S550. The E350's sprayer mist the water, so the E350 only needs 3 nozzles, the S550 needs 8 nozzles. In my opinion I respect the original design even that's not the best solution. Also, that would be spending more time and money to change a mature design, and may not be successful. @@LeighSr hum goy saï leia / Chay-chay niha... if you're in the SFbay area I can help you with "simple" procedure to troubleshoot you car 40+ bus modules with an Autel scanner... the more faults are logged in any of the "computers" modules, the slower gets the CAN Bus designed by Bosch integrator. Basically you want the least amount of active faults AND NO archived FAULTS either because they all contribute to impede the can buses data streams. I studied some of the schematics dealing with the interconnect "gateway" that links the 6 distinct separated buses on my W212... software is sofisticated but quality is poor... many untested integration bugs (KeylessGo, RFK-Camera, EVO AGM Battery Mgt 😅...) Less faults, smoother engine 👍
