What’s up everybody. In todays video I will be
replacing the bushings in my factory oem front trac bar on my 2016 Ram 2500 6.7. I have tried other HD trac bars and they do tighten up the axle but are hard to get lined up and I had some loud crack sounds coming from mine so I went back to oem. The oem trac bar is perfectly fine but overtime will need bushings replaced. If you have sloppy steering or axle shift where it feels like your axle shift left to right causing the driver to bounce around in the cab, you may need to replace your trac bar bushings.
I bought my trac bar bushings about 1 year ago and was not able to find the link where I got them but I found other potential options below.

Just a thought . i bought theren sway bar end links they have grease fittings & gave my truck a new steering ride. feels like a 1/2 ton smoothness . absolute game change. instead of the expense of the sway bar. new subscriber

I assume the thuren track bar bushing is similar replacement fixing to do mine.. Started getting the popping sounds and death wobble again and ordered a new frame side bushing.. Video is very informative I'll check that steering nut as well!

Synergy MFG has adjustable track bars that uses a poly dual durameter bushing on both ends. I switched to Synergy TBs after also experiencing the same harshness and popping with heim joints. Its been several years now and still happy with the Synergy TBs. Something to think about if you needed to switch to an adjustable bar. btw great video!

If you have a ball joint removal kit, you can use it to remove the bushings if you don't have a press or a vice.

I did not have that either at the time lol. Lesson learned about having the right tools lol

It seems like my 2 piece moog bushings wore out in less than a year. How long have yours lasted? I'm thinking about getting a press and oem bushings... I appreciate your ratchet strap idea? I have watched your video the 1st time I did the bushings and again today. you rock

How has the wear been on the new bushings? The stock bushings are in metal shells that provide more area than just the actual track bar. It looks like the urethane bushings will be taking more pressure.

Where’d you buy those bushings at ? I’m going to replace them I got the pooping too. I checked everything head to toe. It’s definitely my bushings and as well I got tiny bit of play in the driver hub. So ima do the hubs tomorrow go ahead do brakes at rotors while I’m there I just did moog ball joints and ends so this will be my last touch up. Crazy how a track bar pops it sounds fucking nasty when I heard it I was like no way my moogs went bad that fast. It’s a 2013 4th gen 2500 93k miles and I don’t beat it but I guess the years and heat got my bushings quick. Let me know where you got those exact same ones so I can order it ! Thanks

To check if your bushings are good get a helper to turn the steering while you watch each end of the bar. Any movement and they need replacing. Get factory style bushings. Those urethane two piece have too much flex.

I’ll be honest, I don’t remember. I bought them over a year ago and never got around to installing them. I tried searching for them but could not find them. I think I got them off eBay. I put a couple links in the description to check out though.
