Looks great. The modified feet suits the Hammond Collection T. Rex much better than the oversized feet. It’s quite impressive how people on the internet can create modifications like feet, heads, etc with such detail and accuracy to the real thing.
Mattel is a toy company, and they know kids will still want hammond collection stuff. So they give them the ugly feet and weird rubber blunt teeth and claws. Mattel has loads of potential they just havent used it
@@protoblep6100 but they literally say the hammond and amber collection is for adult collectors who want high quality jp figures yet they still put kid safety and kid play features on them
Price is steep but I do admit... they are tempting. Since I've not really modified any of my figures before I think I'll wait a while and get some practice with lower end figures to help me decide on if its worth coughing up the dough for some new kicks. They look great though and the added articulation is a HUGE welcomed addition.
This replacement feet are really nice and fit with this HC T-rex. But the price of this replacement feet is too overpriced for me, almost same price with the HC T-rex it self. So i am trying to looks other cheaper choice.
You likely will not find it cheaper. These are made by 3D print artists who, who took the time to model the feet from scratch, determine joint fitment to the original color, and printed several prototypes until one of the work. It is a lot of work, and since it not a factory making them, all of ton contributes to the price. Your only other option right now is marco makes, who charges 12 pounds sterling( around $14 usd) for the STL model file download for 3D printing; This means that you have to own a printer, spent money on resin, print out the product, clean up the product, and paint the product. After you do all that yourself, you would see that it cost more than you though. You could always buy the STL file, find someone who owns a printer and paints, and have them print and paint it, but it unlikely the cost will be much different after paying for print and paint labor, as well as shipping if you have get the item shipped to you. I cannot justify paying the cost for the feet, simply because it is a Mattel rex and don't want to put the total cost of rex higher, but I understand what is being factored into the cost; It is fair for the amount work put into it, I just do not want spend that much.
@@jrivv2239 I understand. I currently struggling to chose the replacement feet from either SyrettTechStore or Macro Makes.....if want perfect feet with articulation then SyrettTechStore's feet is the best.
Jrivv has said it all perfectly. Couldn’t agree more. However, I understand not everyone is looking to spend money. So a cheaper alternative is simply cutting off some of you toe length on your HC Rex and then buying some milliput to sculpt in the scutes and fix the feet to make them look more small and accurate. Then just paint. You wouldn’t really buy a replacement. However there is always change of ruining your feet and then you would be in a situation to buy a pair. There are RU-vid videos on how to do this if that’s the route you want to go. But just fyi, I did buy these feet and they are without a doubt worth every penny. I actually bought two sets for both my rexes and I don’t regret it at all.
My wife's T-Rex arrived with one of her feet detached. Needless to say, she was gutted that her precious new toy was already broken. I kid you not when I say she tried to hammer (!) it back in place. We were about to throw in the towel when I found this video and lo and behold, the T-Rex has 2 feet once again! The thought of heating it up had never occurred to us 😅 Thank you so much for saving our Rex and making my wife happy!
sweet! lookin' great. I'm in the middle of modding my Hammond Rex too. I wanted to get a set of these, but they were out of my price range so instead I went ordering a digital set from Marco Makes's Etsy store and currently I'm getting them 3D printed somewhere.... it's still a pricey process but a bit cheaper than what these were going to cost. I'm curious how you're going about fixing up the teeth? I'm working on the same thing at the moment and it's a bit tricky based on the way the rex is made. so far i've removed all the segments of the head, re-made and replaced the eyes with new ones, did some minor re-sculpts to some details of the head and repainted it.
I just now finally decided I needed this Girl in my life. I'm tempted to try and upgrade her...but I have no painting skill 😅 But these Feet and The Eye upgrade I've seen are so good!!
your just affecting his collectible value, i know that the feet does not look like the Stan Winston model , but it does look accurate to the lost world scene where the t-rex steps over carter, so in the movie the t-rex feet is exactly the same size if you compare it with any human figure of the set.
Such a bummer these feet are already sold out :/ hope they manage to get back in stock. I've never custom painted a figure before, but I'd love for this to be my first foray into it.
I don't understand why people are complaining about the stock feet. I mean, these replacement feet look really good. The moving toes add alot. But when I look at my Hammond Rex, yes, it is beautiful, but it also has lots of joints. These open joints to me are far more distracting than some slightly oversized feet.
A question, when putting a figure in hot water there is a risk that it will run or ruin the paint? I have some figures that I'd like to fix by molding defects
Hey. If possible, Could you do a video of how to replace the teeth and possibly also eyes on the HC T-Rex?? I just purchased both but it is the first time I’ll try a custom 😅😅😅😅😅
I wish Mattel really had given the Hammond Collection Tyrannosaurus Rex the same feet with articulated toes. It's too bad that Hasbro didn't acquire the rights to have Jurassic Park and Jurassic World toys made instead. I would've liked to see Hasbro have a Jurassic Park Tyrannosaurus Rex action figure similar to the Mattel Hammond Collection figure made with better articulation.
These are amazing, but will he release a painted version eventually? Im a horrible painter and wouldn’t wanna ruin the feet, i honestly wouldn’t mind paying a bit extra if it were painted also but these are FUCKIN AMAZING!!
