Thanks again, you are the only one that posted tail light bulb replacement for my particular model. I hope that there is a specially warm smoky place in HELL..reserved for those mercedes/bosch engineers that managed to make a 2 minute procedure into something of this magnitude.....

Yes, u removed the board with the lightbulbs still connected on it, but how do u remove the light bulb from the board?

To change the bulb I think you would have to desolder the bulb from the circuit board. I have the same problem on my 2005 mercedes e320 so once I get another circuit board to swap out with the one thats in my car now I will make a video fixing the problem.
