Excellent video!! Thank you. Very nicely explained with added tips and tricks. i will be doing the wife's 06 and then my 07 this weekend now that you've made it look easier than I expected.
I'm glad you found it useful, just be very careful around those heater hoses. Another tip about the hoses: if you don't have rear ac/heat you can take the quick connects off and put the hose straight on to the heater core its self and not have that issue again 😉
Thanks for the comment! I must not have mentioned that in the video. Hopefully, your comment will help others in the future. I agree with you 100% I typically run all the bolts down hand loose then come back and work out from the center tightening them. Afterwards I go back and double check them. Sometimes when squishing a gasket down the bolts you start with are no longer tight. Either way it's always best like you said, start in the center and work your way out in a criss cross pattern when tightening parts down. Some people may think it's not needed, at least until they replace an intake or exhaust manifold gasket, and it leaks 😅. I'm glad you mentioned that, I will try to do a video in the future explaining the importance or tightening procedures and torque specs.
Well I did it today. Took me about 3 hours but I spent a lot of time cleaning. I also did alot of re-looming the wires. Only issue is I did break my drivers side PCV valve hose. It was so brittle it just snapped at the valve fitting. Got a new OEM coming tomorrow. Otherwise your video was awesome. Your tip on removing the rear passenger coil pack was perfect. That back coil stud bracket bolt is tough to get to. The bolt grommets went on easy. I used some PB Blaster silicone lube and they slipped right on. I also made sure that those grommets were fully seated using the lube. Super easy project and thanks again for your detailed video.
@hud351 thanks for your feed back, I'm glad the video helped! Sounds like you did well, cleaning is usually where I spend most of my time as well. It just makes you feel better when everything is nice neat and clean going back together 🤣
I'm sure you can, and that may be a good option for some. I personally try to keep truck purchases limited to hand tools. In my experience, other items are marked up way to high, to the point the prices doesn't match the quality received
Hello! Have you heard something about the upgraded valve cover that was released in 2013 (from the driver's side) so that the oil does not get into the combustion chamber and the engine does not consume oil?
thanks for the video! we will be doing the gasket soon. we have the 05 6.0L v8 and want to replace the spark plugs, wires and ignition coils as well. there are a few different types of coils and spark plug wires that go with. i do know that we have square type ignition coils on right now but couldnt see a number stamp on them. since we are replacing them all...we can just match them and put them on without issue, correct? is there an ignition module that cares what type of coils we get?
Glad you found the video useful. After all these years I have never ran into an issue with using the round or square coils I guess I've been lucky. They are controlled by ecm not sure what the actual difference between the two are but I would guess they have a different style plug possibly
