Thanks for the help, I have a 2008 Chevrolet Avalanche with the same trim, the broken covers change out to new one's, your pick pushing trick was what I needed...(used a de-soldering style)...to break the little tabs and presto... Thanks again ✌😎👍
The only thing that I sanded was the plastic nut that screws onto the USB charger. I rubbed it against the concrete to reduce the amount that the knubs extended. It wasn't much.
I’ve just done this on my Sierra. Your video was very helpful, thanks. I’m just wondering if yours has a blue light that stays on even when the truck is off? Has this ever caused an issue?
420gtown , yeah, mine stays on all the time. GM has it that way, cause even the cigarette lighter would always have current. I've had it for over a year and no issues at all.
3 years later and it still works. Only thing is part of the blue light isn't working but it still charges fast. Click the link for a picture of the final product 3 years in. Thanks. drive.google.com/file/d/17ew9W7TaLPqAjKp8E5WwN7bBpcA7aUFp/view?usp=drivesdk
Hello i was wondering if you could possibly tell me why my usb is not working...i did everything you said in the video (by the way awesome video it was very helpful) is it a certain way the wires were suppose to be inside the connectors...please help😔
Danielle Smith Hey, glad it helped. Check your fuse for the cig lighter. I forgot to mention on the video that disconnecting the battery will prevent the fuse from being blow.
If you use the old cigarette lighter wires, the hot is constant and the light on your usb will drain your battery. I had to find a keyed hot wire. I used the yellow wire on my stabilitrak which is between the two lighters on my Tahoe. I just tapped into it using a blade connector.
Don't do how to videos where you skip steps. What's the point. Why not film yourself when you were doing steps and instead just tell us about them. Good video otherwise, but a step by step video would get way more traction in my opinion
