Ok, so I want to figure out how you get that sped up effect, is this something you set when you record the video, or did you do this in the video editor? I assume you use iMovie, as you have that nice iMac, which is what I use too, also on a 27in iMac interestingly.
I'm getting a rumbling sound in the front driver side on my 2004 F350. It seems like it could be the needle bearing. You have a video from a couple years ago when you replaced the bearing alone, now you are replacing the entire hub & bearing. Why do you think the last replacement went so fast?
How long did it take to replace your front wheel bearings and hubs? I'm thinking I'm going to have mine replaced, along with the back, and just wondering if all of it could be done in a day.
Where is the snap ring? I have a 2001 but I can’t find it on mine. I got the axle out and the special hub nut off and the 4 nuts on the backside. It pulls out about 1/2” and won’t go any further. It moves side to side up and down but isn’t coming off.
I know this is an old video but maybe you can answer this. I'm 95% certain my front left wheel bearing is shitting out, I'm gonna replace it. Did you have a brake shutter as well or just a vibration? I've been hunting down a shutter for months now. New everything in the brake system. I'm assuming it's the play in the bedding causing wheel shake.
I think the same thing on my excursion... But it don't help. The problem is inside the hub thing. Buy a new hub, and take care of it with grease in the ABS sensor hole. 😏
+DanielJaegerFilms that engine sounds really awesome for 321135 miles. You must take care of her very well. Last update on this truck it had 305,000 miles. Pretty good. I hope my little Ford Escort goes that far. A lot of people say it won't make it because they say the Split Port Induction 4 cylinder engines are known for breaking down and dying after 100,000 miles or something.
This would have been a good video without the sped up effect. For those of us that have excursions that are trying to watch you do this job so we could do it correctly at home. 🤔
I just bought a 2004 with the 5.4L. It needed new wheels/tires (could not stand those huge 20" things), shocks and steering dampener. My total was 10K with all my upgrades. It drives really nice and I love it. A V10 would be even better but the 5.4 does the trick. Go for it unless they priced it like a diesel (16 K and up) or like a F250 (12K and up). Oh wait...your comment is a year old...oh well...
We have a 2003 Excursion V10 4x4 and our family love it. It has almost 20K miles on it and nothing major was replaced. It developed some rumbling noise from the front end and I think it is time to replace the wheel bearings. I will replace the entire wheel bearing hubs instead of just the bearing. It will be much less work to replace the whole assembly.
STEEVE DAVID Nicolas It's pretty much for family purposes or camping if you'd like to pull a camper with it, they have the V10 version aswell. In my opinion it's best suited with the 7.3
The Excursion can carry 8 people knowing you have the heaviest and longest SUV ever made. Safe. Good to pull things. It be manly and can easily be the last vehicle you ever buy...with proper care. Now where did I park my Prius?
