Great video, from the comment section, it seems my 2007 which has a bad vibration under load/accelerating at 50+mph will be cured finally! I've spent countless hours trying new things, replacing all my mounts, tires, etc...it is relieving and infuriating to know that it's going to be less than $100 to replace this part myself. Thanks for showing us how to remove it without disconnecting the strut as well!

Good video! Very helpful! Thanks....also for those out there with a vibration issue with a CRV mine is 2011 model, vibration and shimmy feel inside car can be a symptom of bad half shafts/axles...especially when under load or climbing an incline and around 20 to 40 MPH...I dont know exactly why but change the passenger side first...it is more often the bad half shaft of the 2....might have to do with the way it mounts onto the short jack shaft but not really for sure...you might feel like you have a transmission shudder when this vibration happens...save yourself some money and replace the axles first..that is cheaper and it might fix your problem! I used cheaper new axles to find out for sure axles were the culprit so it certainly a cheaper way to diagnose....

Hello, what was the reason to change both cv joints ? was the driver feeling some vibrations in the car when the driver was strongly accelerating/big load and middle speed ? or did you notice some important play on the joints that tells you : it time to change me ? i'm asking you that because i have both problem i mentioned but i can't be sure it's the cv joint or the bearing holding it in the gearbox that allow my excessive play. Hope my English was clear enough :) Keep working like that. I like your way, fast but paying attention to the right details. Arthur S

I have a 2010 CRV Front wheel drive and I'm getting a serious vibration-shudder during acceleration at 50km/h and 90km/h speed range. The mechanics that have checked my car cannot see anything wrong with it and want to replace both drive shafts. For both parts + labour + alignment its going to cost $790.00 CDN I remember hitting a curb while taking a turn at 60km/h about a month ago but these symptoms were not noticed right afterwards. A tire shop said it wasn't my wheels and that it's more likely a mechanical component.

Thank you again, your videos are always well done and extremely helpful. I had an inquiry if I may, when torquing the drive axle nut. Given us diyer's. Do you see a problem with using a screw driver in the vanes of the rotor, to allow torquing of the axle nut while the car is in the air on jack stands.
@HowtoAutomotive
@HowtoAutomotive 6 лет назад
gsleve using the screwdriver may cause it to bend and give it in accurate Torque work but if that’s what you Gotta do you it’s best then not Torque it

What's not mentioned here is the ABS tone ring. Most replacement axle assemblies do NOT come with the ABS ring. I'm doing this job tomorrow on a 2010 CR-V. Replacement axles from RockAuto (Cardone) do not have the ring.

@steves3688
@steves3688 6 лет назад
I know its a few months past your question but here is another way to tell. I am a DIY honda person and have been for many years...owned many hondas...I can tell you that clicking while turning is certainly a symptom...but also vibration/shimmy/shudder inside of car is too, especially when car is under load as when climbing an incline...usually around 20 to 40 mph...my 2011 crv was caused by passenger side front half shaft/axle being bad...grinding is also a symptom but vibration is prob more common...had only 112k on this crv.
