Thanks - sadly I saw this after fitting mine. Getting a torch to see what I was doing was tricky but thereafter the removal and refitting was as you experienced. I didn't remove the glovebox.

Thanks for this. Just did mine. Awkward position from ground level, probably easier on a lift. Had no problem extracting and found that wiggling the replacement up and down made it slide in fairly easy. tbh had more trouble trying to get the cover back on. Can't see what you're doing. Anyway, what an improvement in air flow! Not relishing changing it out in the future but well worth the effort.
I was a Land Rover dealer tech for 20 years. Never liked replacing the pollen filter on Freelander 2 / Evoque. I would put the car on the lift and raise it to about one meter, stand next to the car and work in the footwell.
Having changed pollen filter on a lot of different cars I find this one quite easy to change. If you empty the glove compartment before you start removing it, it will be easier to handle. However well done and good video. Keep up the good work I have a FL2 myself.
I managed to replace it without removing the glove box too,I had to remove a fuse box thingy on my 2013 model.All very easy once I watched your video.Thanks
Great video, thanks. I’d done this on my car a couple of years ago but you obviously forget every time. I don’t remove the glovebox and it doesn’t seem to make a discernible difference to me. You’re right in one you get leading edge of the filter in…..it will go easily. Where your vid helped me was that I was struggling with door for ages before realising I had it smooth side out! Like the oil filter…..it’s a pain in the a**** to do but satisfying!
👍 Thanks! *for those who still have the damper intact, there's a pushy thing for you to slide off that "beak". When reassembling, put the box in position and before clicking it in place, pull the damper and conect the beak.

In the meantime, The RU-vid Rimmer Brothers video on servicing the FL2 shows the diesel fuel filter. Word of caution, you definitely need a priming pump to fill the filter after, otherwise it won’t start
Owned my first Freelander for just over a year 2013 LS 52000 miles on it now, to replace a 2010 Toyota Rav 4X4. I find the Freelander incredibly light on the steering, does anybody else find this.? I have had it checked out bushing, rack and suspension all good. I also find it very high geared. One thing I can say for Freelander no way will you get stuck in snow or mucky fields it just tramps on and on I can pass Discoveries and other higher end Landrovers in mud fields no probs with only Goodyear Wrangler all weathers on it. lol.
The steering feels light to me too, in a good way though. Gearing is definitely on the high side, I had the mark I Freelander previously and that is much lower. The mark 2 is still a far better vehicle in so many ways thankfully.
