That is a ridiculous amount of work and time to be fiddling around with the actuator, instead of putting it in service mode
@RBTheMechanic
@RBTheMechanic 10 дней назад
Yes but sum cars u need scan tool to put it in to service mode I tried doing to push the button down 3 time and all didn’t work so I did it my way!!
@condor5635
@condor5635 10 месяцев назад
So what’s wrong with just putting it in service modes. Several button pressing and you’re done. What so difficult? I have not done these brakes yet but I have easily tested myself putting it in service mode.

@charlosrossi

What’s wrong is that the stupid little motors sometimes can’t even depress the piston all the way so you end up shoving it in with your thumbs and a 12v jumper anyway.

@@charlosrossi i see. Yeh I hate all this new tech that in my opinion is not needed. I never use emergency brake in 45 years of driving and never regretted it or needed it

Hello from North Carolina!! Love your Videos, by the way. They're VERY helpful!! So, I'm having trouble finding a replacement 'brake master cylinder' for my 2001 Lexus ES300. I bought a 'guarantee fit' NO- traction control 'brake master cylinder' from Napa Auto Parts. My mechanic tried to put it on, didn't fit. He spoke with the folks at Napa and they told him the 'part' had been packaged wrong and they would send out another one. Tried the 'new' master cylinder and you guessed it... the part doesn't fit...Meanwhile we're awaiting Napa to find out what the issue is on their end. My mechanic said he would also contact Lexus to double the part. Of course, as you know, Lexus no longer makes 'brake master cylinders' for older model cars. Hopin' you can help!! Thanks so much✌🏽

@@RBTheMechanicok ok I just had to do these today. It went into service mode no problem and then you can depress the piston the rest of the way with your hands. I just figured I’d mention it over taking that whole thing apart and doing it manually

I know it’s subjective but at what mileage were these brakes needing replacing my RAV4 is just over three years old with 43,000 miles and I definitely think I need to replace the pads at at least already

I recently messed up the caliper. The piston pushed out too far and now it wont go back down. I was changing brake pads and got rotors resurfaced. Should i buy a new caliper? If so, after i put it on do i bleed the lines or leave it as is? Please help

Yes replace it and U need to bleed it
