MAH, This instruction was exactly what I was looking for for my 1710 with a 770B and two leaking cylinders. Off to fix my tractor this weekend! Big thank you.

@guesswhotoo6 You're welcome! However, I've learned something important about this job since I did the first one. I plan to try doing it differently on the next one. This should help a lot. Do you have the 770B manual? There's procedures in there to loosen and tighten that seal compression nut on the end of the cylinder rod. You can remove the hydraulic fitting on the fixed end of the cylinder to gain access to the seal nut. Poke a pin or drift through that hole, into the hole in the seal nut. I imagine getting it lined up will be a bit tricky. Then rotate the cylinder or cylinder rod to loosen or tighten the nut. If you don't have the manual, you can contact me via my gmail address found on this channel. I'll send you scans of the cylinder seal replacement pages. Thanks for watching and commenting! And good luck with the seal replacements.

It’s like looking into a crystal ball. Good job on the video. I have the 770a with a small drip for the last 3 years. I bought the seal kit for it, but haven’t gotten around to it. Looking for a full tune up this spring, so prepping my mindset.

Thank you. If you have the manual for the 770a, I've since learned that it gives good instructions on disassembling the cylinder and piston. If I ever have to replace the seals on the other side, I'll be trying their technique to loosen that round "nut" that holds the seal pack so tightly. It appears to be a lot better than how I did it. You can probably find a manual on line if you don't have it. Thank you for watching and commenting!

Very nice video, just rebuilt a cylinder on my 1710 for my first time. I had a few trips to the dealer. But I got it done. And works good now. Mine was way different than that as I have a bradco loader on my tractor. Overall good to see that process all the way through.

Thanks for your comments. I was learning as I went, with this job, and I've learned some useful things after I did it. The next time I do one of these, I'll be doing some things differently. It sounds like you got it figured out as you went, as well. Thanks for watching!

Thanks for this video. I’ll be doing this job soon. You mentioned a service manual for the 770 in another comment. Could you please share where you got the manual or just share the helpful info it provided? Thanks Eric

Eric, I have the manual that came with the loader when it was new. It's the Ford Series 770B Quick Attach Loader, Operator's Manual. They're available from several sources if you search. I'm also adding a link in the description. Thanks for watching and good luck!

I've been wondering about parts availability. I haven't had to find parts for mine yet. But I'm sure I will at some point. My tractor is still running good. I've been working it pretty good this Summer. Lot's of mowing with a six foot finish mower. Thanks for watching!

Where did u get the seals and part number
@manabouthome
@manabouthome Год назад
I did a web search. Seals are available on Ebay and Amazon. I have to warn you, the seal kit I used wasn't exactly correct. One of the new seals was thicker than the original. All the others were perfect. I was able to make it work for now, by not tightening the piston seal nut down all the way. It's working as it should, with no leaks... for now? But when I do the other side, I'm going to dissemble it first to make sure all the seals I get in the kit match correctly. If there's a mismatch I'll talk to the supplier directly to correct the discrepancy. I used SML22859. Thanks for watching!

What is the part number for the cylinder kit?

Best bet is to call the dealer. But I used SML22859.

Do yourself a favor and buy a nylon hammer for tapping those seals in.

I have plenty of soft faced hammers. I used what I used because it's the best option for the job at hand. Thanks for watching.
