I have a 88 S10 most all the dash lights are burned out except one.. After watching your excellent video I think I'm going to pick me up a Chilton manual and some bulbs and give it a try myself... If that doesn't work I'll just use a little fashlight LOL
I heard the house of the rising sun lol so awesome! thank you so much for making this. I have a 93 GMC Sonoma with the same dash. It has a problem with the dome light staying on all the time and none of the gage lights seem to work.
Hello everyone, This is a great video an a lot of help, Thank you! How ever I was able to remove dash panel with out disconnecting any of the climate control wiring an cable, first of all I had only about 1/2 inch of slack. By pushing the controls to the right a little I able to get a tool in there to remove nuts, the other side was easy to get to. Its a little work to get the dash panel out with all that stuff in the way, but I think it will work, mine did... I have a1993 S10 pick up...Oh yeah, I put LED bulbs in mine, Got them on Amazon, $13.00 bucks for 10 bulbs....
i have a 92 and a no dash light problem the heat control BS is what turned me back. one video said its got to come out (this one) another said you didnt have to remove it? of course this is a 93 mine is a 92. if you have tackled this issue please reply.
Sup dude, replaced my lights. Didn't have to disconnect hearted controls, there is enough side to pull it out and swing it to the right and out of the way.. Sad part is I think the circuit board is bad....no lights.
love, the video I got a 92 s10 5 speed and my dash lights are like all died and I see the pain. awesome in-depth video. how your old girl is still doing good.
You can gently tug on the HVAC column to give you more room to work with, the only downside is you'll hear your blend door cable (for hot or cold) stretch farther behind the dash, which will sort of kink it and make it difficult to push it up to hot or down to cold with a kink in the cable so THEN you take everything out of your glovebox, take that plate off back there in the back, and feed the cable back to the right (you can't miss it) and it will unkink and be perfect once again. :)
Alex, LOL I could have had this done in one evening, but thought it might make a good YT video. It took me two days to do this video. The worst part in my opinion was disconnecting the climate controls. Very tight space and little room to work. Nathan
CubNole, I tried to tug on the cables to gain more length, but it was a no go. I would hate to even think about that cable breaking down in the dash EKKKK ! Nathan
Hello, If I remember right I seen a video of an analog to digital dash conversion here on YT. I remember the wiring harness needed changed from this current one to the one for the digital cluster. Nathan
I have a 89 Chevy S10. I ran into this problem. How ridiculous that you cannot go to auto parts store and buy the bulbs. So much ridiculous engineering on this vehicle. Wait till you have to replace the headlight dimmer switch. It just goes on and on . I will never buy another GM vehicle the rest of my life.
Robert, LOL, yeah it was a pain in the ass especially the climate control. They really could have done something different here with the design. Nathan
Came here for help because I searched everywhere else and can't find anything on it, recently bought a v8 swapped 92 s10, but the dude played with the wiring. My question is does anybody know what color wires go to both the headlight switch and dimmer switch, he definitely switched shit around and it's screwing up my dash board. Any help would be much appreciated because this shits giving me a headache and I don't want just start putting wires where they don't belong.
