Replacing the front passenger door speaker in a 2014 Chevy Cruze. Old speaker was sounding very distorted as a temporary fix we balanced the sound to the rear door speakers. Found out though apparently someone had replaced the speaker at one point already as the speaker in the door was not original!

Kicker is far better than the factory poop that comes in it! Also you don't have to use the mounting bracket if you don't want. The only mistake was not hooking up the new speaker wire connectors without removing the old ones...

I agree. The 6.5's are a good midrange speaker but have been known to have sensitive voice coils, so if not driven properly they will sound like poop. Better to use separate amp and not the lines off the factory stereo.

Great Video! Just wondering how you 'disabled the speaker' beforehand. Is that something in the UI on the screen, or a physical action that needs to be done?

Yes, in the UI you can set the balance of the speakers, I set it completely to the rear.

Well I will have to say it did sound good when it worked. If I had known that I probably would have put that back in. The driver side apparently is the same kicker speaker because there is an extreme mismatch in sound now!
