It was great to see an XJ6 series 3 on the channel Adam. Sad to hear it is going back to its owner. Would be great to have some more series 3 content on the channel. The Haynes manual is very confusing for jobs that are covered in part in the series 2 section so an extra resource would be most welcome 😊

Thanks for the useful video! If I may, you shouldn’t install ferrule on a single arrow port (there are 2 styles: single or dual arrows, both on the injector or the rail). Single arrows must have a regular clip ( the collar with the screw) only the double arroz can support the ferrules.

Good job! I like to use injector cleaner often on my XJ40, as the injectors seems to get sticky fast when the car isn't used.

Wonderful job, I did the same on my S3, only with other quality hoses than the original ones. Temperature can get really high underneath the boot 😉

Camp chaos chronicles suggested soldering iron to burn the rubber hose to get it off the injector. I haven’t tried but seems like a “safer” way to avoid damaging the metal. You are v skilled with a knife. Me not so much…!
@LivingWithAClassic
@LivingWithAClassic Год назад
I feel like my way is safer. If you cut like I show you won’t make a mark. You can do a lot more damage with a soldering iron plus the fumes are pretty toxic

The original Jaguar Fuel Hoses For this model ( unlike V12 ones ) had a larger OD diameter and were always secured by jubilee clips, this is why standard Bosch ferule could not be used and this is why these injectors (150153 and 150166 ) were sold with no hoses again unlike the Bosch.0280150102 from V12. Insulator Bushing EAC4406 should have also been replaced while you were at it :(

Hi, do you know the type and size the screw-on connectors on the fuel regulator, please? I am trying to get a pass-through fuel pressure gauge attached to it. Regards, Bo

Very helpful video as always! Thank you. Can anyone help me? I’m looking for bumper components for my 79 jaguar XJS. I called around to a lot of Jaguar parts suppliers but can’t seem to find them. Any suggestions? Thank you anyone in advance 👍🏼

Hello, great video, thanks a lot. I'm about to place an order at Mr Injector UK, for my XJ6 S3 European model, 1986. I was wondering which inner diameter hoses did you use for the supply and return lines. Do you know if it's standard and I can use the same as yours?
@LivingWithAClassic

I bought the other hoses from MR Injector for too

@@LivingWithAClassic Thank you for your prompt reply. I've done some research and found that the fuel feed and return lines for a 1986 XJ6 S3 European model typically have an inner diameter of 3/8 inches (9.53 mm), as mentioned on a Jaguar enthusiasts' website and confirmed by various Jaguar parts resellers. However, on the Mr Injector UK website, the closest available sizes are 7.3mm, 9.3mm, and 11.5mm. Given this, would the 9.3mm hose be a suitable replacement for the original 9.53mm hose? Your expertise and advice on ensuring the correct fit would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I think with fuel lines one should use a special clamps ans not those type that are used with cooling hoses...
@LivingWithAClassic
@LivingWithAClassic Год назад
Those are fuel line clamps but they don’t look like it. It’s original Jaguar equipment those ones. Same are used on the return of the V12

What about the very small hose that runs at the front just above the waterpump. This one is often forgotten. My 83 also has hoses underneath the inletmanifold. A lot of these cars end up like bonfire....
