A knock sensor is used to detect engine vibration or knocking. It is an important input to the computer to protect the engine. On a four-cylinder engine, it is easy to replace, but on V8 or V6 engines, more work needs to be done.
Just did this job in drive way it took a day an a half 🤣 Tip if car older do injector jets heads up hard to find out of stock every where same for crush washers for gas line. Cleaned everything to like new. My van runs like a beast after doing job. Tip junk yard can save you for anything you can't find in store. Nice review 👍💪
Thank you so much for this NIce video, I just want to know how you handled the water hose and avoid water falling in the holes that have gaskets. I also want to know the name of two blue and black gaskets that goes on both sides and the black gasket with round holes . I mean what to say in the store to buy it. I will appreciate your help in this matter. Thank you
So many things wrong here... The Brittle old Harness is usually the issue. NEVER re-use the old harness. That large hose just above the harness gets old and brittle, he bent it in HALF. it will fail soon and cause major damage. Big no no. Everything, Every way he did this job Screams of car lot... It's done, I don't care if it fails in 2 weeks.
They are the same. It's rarely the sensors, usually the cooked and brittle wire harness. The sensors are very expensive, but this job is a pain. So most people don't want to go back in there. I've fixed multiple 3.0 and 3.3 with just replacing the harness. Only had one actually bad knock sensor... Sucked going back in there... But I'm still way ahead on average
