The right stick is such a pain, because you need to re-thermal paste it, which just adds extra fuss, I wish the right stick was as simple as the left, it's really annoying

I was looking around on RU-vid to try and find videos of how to fix my controller and I noticed in the comments that a lot of people said that after they fixed it, they’re Nintendo wouldn’t turn on like they could hear the sound and everything but the screen wasn’t working, and just to make sure that I don’t completely break my Nintendo because my Nintendo is my life is there anyway to avoid this?

I just tried to put a Switch lite back together after my nephew replaced the screen and wanted me to finish putting it back together. The screen is good now but the left stick isnt responding. I got a new stick and tried it but that didnt fix it. All my connections are solid.. What else could it be

So I completed the swap and everything works… digitizer and touch portion of screen, sticks, sound… the problem- I am not getting anything on the screen, it’s black and no backlight. Any advice?I can hear everything working on the switch just can’t see on lcd now.

I would verify both ribbons from the screen are seated into the sockets. There is a separate backlight connection.

@@PghGameFix What is the ribbon called that travels from the left board where the backlight connects to the main board near the power connection? Mine may be damaged and I am assuming this is what could cause the screen not to light?

The only spring that may fall out is from the shoulder buttons.

I followed the video and replaced the hardware, however now my switch lite won't turn on or even show signs of charging when I plug it in. I ordered a replacement power/volume ribbon cable, but I feel like the Switch should still respond to being plugged in right? Is it possible I shorted something? Anyone else have this problem?

Try calibrating the stick in the settings menu.

#0 Philips and a 2.0 trywing. Sharp tweezers and a plastic spudger will also help.

You’ve just saved me a ton of money and waisted time trying to replace my daughters left joy stick on her switch lite. I was really happy treat I didn’t have to take of the heat shield and rip this thing more apart. Ive just started repairing broken electronics and I did an iPod touch last weekend she bork the screen it I was able to fix that so I figure I would see if I could fix her left joystick. Thank you for posting this content again its very helpful and I will make sure to keep you saved for future problems

Hey so I have a strange problem and I need to know if I need to replace the joystick so when I go to calibrate it’s indicating that it doesn’t think it’s going fully down like outside the circle in the calibration screen it’s only going about halfway between the center point and the outside of the circle but all the other directions they are outside the circle any advice

When I went to do the ribbons I had my phone a decent ways away and ended up breaking the circuit off because it seemed like you demonstrated it differently

Just got a Switch lite it doesn’t turn on but when i press the power i can hear some whizzing sound?! No screen turn on. No charge symbol when plugged it. What would you investigate first?

Well.... if the fan kicks on, but nothing else is happening... I'm going to guess the CPU has shorted. If it was a standard switch... I would look at the HDMI controller.
