Not the greatest video I have posted. I think the reason was I found this job so frustrating and difficult, until I found out the easy/correct way to do it, that the "Teaching" element of the video got a bit wayward!!!
Anyway I managed to replace the locking nut in my Mariner outboard which is the main thing!!!

Yes, problem is that its quite a permanent thing you have to screw onto the outboard. The Lugger's rudder is "fore" of the prop so this would render tight space manouvreing a bit of an issue for me. Also when you want to land on a beach you need to get the rudder up as it can damage the boat if you hit something with it. I prefer to motor in and lift it out at the right moment as the prop is much higher up than the rudder. A very nice viewer has emailed his solution which is to tie a bit of rope to the right spot and it just works so will be trying that next time!!
