Thanks great video, saved a lot of time and once put car in jacking mode this allowed me to put EPB into maintenance mode Range Rover Sport 2017, once completed started the engine, lowered car back to normal height, car EPB went back to normal once selected reverse or drive tested and perfect.

1 step: ignition ON, press and hold the handbrake DOWN(release) wait 2 sec, press and hold acc pedal and wait 2 sec, Ignition OFF and immediately ON again. Step 2 repeat but instead of pressing the handbrake button DOWN you have to pull it UP.

Could you please make a video showing how to put ebreak into service mode and does that mean i don't need scanner Cheers

Sure....go to settings..playback speed...set it to 0.5 and then go to 0:43 in the video. He'll sound like he's had 12 pints of lager. But it's slower. Hope that helps! ;)

@@RimmerBrosTV i got it anyway after several tries, despite his appearing to make it up in the video. what isn't clear is if you continue to hold accelerator and brake throughout and at what point you release. frankly I don't recall. but great video, nonetheless. it saved me from removing epb and manually retracting piston, which I did on the first side.

I have just jacked the rear up and changed pads. Never had to go thru the mumbo jumbo of playing with parking brake.

Thank you for the video sir, very helpful. I had a question would this be the same process for a 2015 Range Rover Vogue? Thanks in advance.

Very good video ! Does the L322 have the same "service mode" procedure as this ? I always take the opportunity to paint the non bearing surfaces of the disc as it looks so much better than the rusty areas left as they come, obviously if a customer is paying for this job he will not be getting painted discs! Stay safe! Chris B.

Hey, Chris. Honest answer is that I'm not sure regarding the L322 service mode. I'll have to find someone to ask. Hope you're keeping well :)

To get the parking brake out of service mode you have to do the same procedure but, pull up on the button instead of push down.
@RimmerBrosTV
@RimmerBrosTV 2 года назад
Hi Mike. To get out of service mode you repeat the procedure for originally turning on service mode.
@hiroshi138

For service mode you say "turn on ignition"...does this mean to start the car? Older cars with a key start allow you to access (start) certain features of the vehicle without actually starting it. I'm not aware of an ignition mode with a push button start vehicle - it's either on or off, right?

Good Day! Pls I loosed and removed the two back brake callipers to compress them as the new pads wasn't entering, after fixing them back and bleeding, the brake pedal goes flat at first and comes a bit hard after several pumping but still goes flat when left for few minutes, had tried several means of bleeding, even changed the brake master and ABS Module but still having same brake failure. Kindly help urgently. Sorry it's a Range Rover 2014 Autobiography and all the jobs where done without me activating the maintenance service mode or can it be the cause?

Hi Obed, In this case, the issue is likely too difficult to diagnose remotely. We recommend you contact a local specialist for vehicle diagnosis.

I have a Rover Sport SCV8 Dynamic with Brembo. My rear pads are at 4mm and front at 6mm. At what measurement should I change them? Thanks

Is this process basically the same for a 2016 Range Rover HSE L405?

Does anybody know if the caliper pistons need to be wound back in or is it simple compression? I’ve had previous cars where they had either a clockwise or counterclockwise spin when winding them back in.
@RimmerBrosTV
@RimmerBrosTV 2 года назад
Hi Mahmood, if you put the vehicle into service mode, this should release the parking brake. We also have this tool - rimmerbros.com/Item--i-RX2235 to push the pistons back into the caliper if needed. Hope this helps :)
