I think what people are trying to say is: new quilters are trying to process what you are doing and keep it in our brain. The interruptions throw us off balance. (Our train of thought). I love both of you together. I do think waiting till the end for questions would be great idea. Both of you are wonderful and I enjoy your videos. 💕💕

Men and woman process differently, so it is like throwing info at us from different view points and never connecting the dots...........If her husband did it alone he would reach people, if she does it alone she will reach people.......but not both at the same time.

I have thought perhaps "Misty" was being trained to fill Jenny's spot for the Friday tutorials a few weeks ago. I'm glad that there just so much to do there at MSQC that Jenny is STILL doing the FRIDAY videos and that we will be able to ENJOY a few more VIDEOS from MSQC. I do like Misty's videos....she's really good at teaching quilting as well. I love this Quilt Misty! I like it that Jake & Misty interact with each other! :)

Wow.... I guess now we know why Jake "moved on" to other opportunities. With all these negative comments about his interrupting (a "Live" event where he's trying to give voice to the comments in real time), it's no wonder he felt he was not being appreciated. Maybe "Live" events don't work well for tutorials? Just for Q&A's (maybe for last week's tutorial?) would be best served by the "Live" format?

Misty is an amazing upbeat instructor. So cheerful. I enjoy her instructions but have a difficult time with Jake's interruptions. He asks questions that don't need to be asked and tells her to move her fabric when it isn't necessary. I try to fast forward to see the quilting but miss Jake's interruptions. He doesn't add anything and probably is responsible for all of the thumbs down. Please let Misty do videos without Jake interrupting.

Pre wound bobbins! Does that mean that you throw them away once they are empty and buy another one? It takes about one minute to wind a bobbin, surely you would be saving all that plastic production and use them again and again, by winding your own. I have bobbins that I have been using for over 20 years. Just do a little recycling and wind your own people. Love the videos, keep em coming xx

I just did a quick review of the tutorial that Jenny did for this pattern in 2015. I notice that she constructed the stars using a little bit different method, snowballing the points of the star after the quadrant was constructed. I really like being able to see both methods! There are often multiple ways to approach a pattern. Thanks Misty and the MSQC crew!

Hi, I posted this comment on the original video that Joan posted on how to make this quilt block- (ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-pKdnP3E-TNc.html) and awhile back I ordered the Ribbon Star Quilt Pattern and I had called several times on this pattern as the points on the Stars would be sewn in because there wasn't enough room even if I used a 1/4" scant even though I always use a 1/4" scant. I got the run around and was told to move the snowball (2-1/2"x2-1/2" squares) to the right or left when sewing them in. Well, after a lot of sewing and trying that method (wasting fabric) I was told to try which never worked right to get the snowballs sewn in right I decided to do my own measurements on the 2-1/2"x2-1/2" squares for the snowballed corners. I solved the problem by making those snowball squares by measuring up to 2-5/8"x2-5/8" (1/8" larger). I looked yesterday and seen this updated video and I found out that I wasn't sewing this block incorrectly (according to the previous video). I thought I was going crazy and I was doing something wrong! I seen where Misty had the same problem with getting the 1/4" seam allowance and said to make sure you go above the seam where the point of the star is. This would make it less than a 1/4" seam (even a scant) allowance and the quilt top would not lay flat if it was done that way. I just wanted to give you my view (not to complain) on what I have done to make this quilt (blocks) measure out right without losing the points on the stars. It also gives ample room to trim the block down to the finished block size that the pattern calls for. I have also seen where there are complaints (like mine) that people are also losing the points on the stars. I think if people are buying this pattern the pattern should be updated. I am only writing you because I hate to see people (especially beginners) to not have to go through what I had to to get the block to measure correctly without losing the star points. I don't like to complain because I love MSQC and the Block Magazine I just wanted to give you my feedback on this Pattern. Thank you Kindly….

Very nice quilt. I think that you should keep all questions until the end. They interrupt Jenny’s focus. She is very good but is hampered by the questions and the guy behind the camera talking so much.
@janetbailey4282
@janetbailey4282 4 года назад
Totally agree, Misty cannot complete an action without interruption. I think it would be helpful for her hubby to realize she is not speaking to him, that he does not need to talk over her, that certain questions are best ask when that process is being done not when she is doing a different step. I love this family, they don't need my advise to make money. But there are alot more of us out here that will give up or get annoyed enough to not watch Misty....which I think would be sad for your growth and success. Let her do thing. If she needs to know how to keep fabric under camera etc. Tell her before or after tutorial. She is not a child ...let her teach.

When you are doing a demo, please have a sample block on your cutting mat so you can show us exactly which cut pieces will be put where. Camera guy doesn’t always give a close up of the block. Also, unrelated questions to the techniques that you are demonstrating should be held to the end. When you are talking about putting a block together, I am not interested in hearing about a question about bobbins,pre-wound or sizes of bobbins.
