I think it’s no secret that the Royal Tiger is the pride of German tank building during the Second World War. This vehicle was truly feared and respected, and mass production of these units began in March 1944, after which 489 tanks of this model rolled off the assembly line. Now we will look at Tiger II characteristics and figure out what the legendary heavyweight is capable of in our favorite game.
The first thing you should know is that we have at our disposal not the largest, but quite impressive margin of safety, as well as a very good basic viewing range of 390 meters, which gives us certain advantages.
As for survivability, the Tiger 2's performance characteristics are relative. If we talk about the hull, then the strongest place, without a doubt, can be called the VLD. This part can deflect the shells of even level ten vehicles if we turn the body well, but standing with our foreheads straight, even our classmates can penetrate us.
You can also tank with the sides, but again, only if you place your Tiger II World of Tanks in a diamond shape at a good angle, and the most vulnerable point is the NLD.
As for the turret, it holds up well against guns whose combat potential does not exceed 200 millimeters of armor penetration; anything higher will penetrate us with a high degree of probability. To make this point about survivability clear to you, the Royal Tiger heavy tank is capable of tanking only if you properly rotate the hull and turret; otherwise, it’s difficult to call our armor good.
But in terms of mobility, everything is much simpler - we have a good maximum speed, but a strong deficit of horsepower per ton of weight makes the Tiger 2 WoT poorly mobile. You all understand perfectly well that this colossus is really large, so we turn slowly.
Our proud representative of the feline family is doing very well with weapons, because an impressive 105-mm, truly German cannon is installed on board.
For starters, the Tiger II gun doesn't have the biggest, but it has a nice alpha strike, and also has a fairly high rate of fire, although we can still only deal about 1850 damage per minute (good, but it can be better).
Regarding armor penetration, everything is even better, the basic AP is enough for the Royal Tiger to confidently fight even with ninth-level vehicles, and when targeting weak areas, we are able to shoot even top-end vehicles. But approximately 20-25% of the gold reserve will not hurt when the opportunity presents itself to drag out the fight.
Well, the best part is that the accuracy of Tiger 2 World of Tanks is truly German. A very good spread of one hundred meters for a heavy weapon, fairly fast aiming and decent stabilization make us a dangerous adversary in any situation.
In addition, the Tiger II WoT tank boasts excellent elevation angles, the barrel lowers by 8 degrees, which is very useful given our dimensions.
Advantages and disadvantages
Despite his celebrity, proud name and pomp, our German, in addition to his strengths, still has weaknesses, so for a more complete understanding of the Tiger 2 game, it is worth paying special attention to this nuance.
