Macrons thoughts are complex. The complete opposite of a salesman like Trump. However, they are not hollow. If Macron can prove his detractor wrong by improving France economy and creating a vision / strategic agenda for Europe or the next 10 years, we will be in a much better place.
okay genius, just compare how the economy of USA under Trump compare against France economy under Macron..............And tell me which is doing better??
Finally if you look at Eurozone numbers in 2017 +2.5% Superior to USA +2.3% and UK due probably to Brexit. France still lagging at +1.9% but in progress as well.
Macron only have a big bag of hot air. France is probably the last place if you want to do business. Dozen of factories are reallocating every week and have been doing so for at least 5 years. Working 35 hours a week, holiday every second week and a constant demande from multiple workers unions. You may ask yourself why France of today has so little relevance with today digital ages.
Dear Swind Pendulum. Your comments show a poor knowledge of modern France and globalization strategic issues. Yes, France has lost a lot of industries, although this overlooks the fact that a lot of French industrial champions (like Renault, Danone, Bouygues...) which have grown well beyond borders. France currently is one of the rare OECD country with a clear agenda for change which is compatible with sustainable globalization. Most workers unions like CGT have been decimated. French are working more than 35 hours - and most often get their overtime paid. French tech still exists and thrive in some sectors and the current labor laws have been changed to favour entrepreneurship and growth. Macron is defining a path forward for an inclusive globalization with a strong Europe with the willing countries which is the only way the western world will avoid the pitfals of nationalism and isolationalism in absence of American leadership.
The only thing I like with the name President on it which comes from France is the cheese.... but I guess this cheesy guy takes the biscuit..... sounds like Inspector Clouseau from the Pink Panther movies
E pior, com uma política de portas abertas desta, veremos daqui a alguns anos, se é toda essa maravilha que pregam. A França, um país lindo e maravilhoso, agora lotado de favelas, com migrantes morando em baixo das lindas pontes em Paris, é triste.
I heard the rest of it out. Pardon me but he is not only out of touch with the people. He is out of touch with the reality of the situation and so also what can be ...he is out of touch almost entirely with reality. If these people believe him as much as he likes to hear himself talk the world will be in for more monumental mistakes. If they feel the way he does it's the blind leading the blind. So grateful he's not the leader of the free world. France do something about him

Je ne pense pas que nous l'ayons tous fait aujourd'hui, or il est incontestable que son arrivée représente une bouffée d'air frais qui, nous l'espérons, permettra de jeter les bases d'une relation des plus fructueuses ...
Guys lets just take a moment to appreciate leaders like him and Justin Trudeau as well as others envisioning a more united world , were people come together as human beings to better humanity.
I didnt know you had to lodge them in your house. All I am for is to help people out. Like how selfless Germans hid and protected Jews during the terror of the Nazi, risking their own safety. I believe that is what it means to be human, to help others out. After all, the tables could have been turned, and it could be us running from wars, and any help we could get from others would be greatly appreciated.
Would you take into consideration, that this 'world unification' process is against the interests of these leaders' electors, despite their very only duty is solely to represent those people's interest, who empowered them?
house ....so wait, are you saying Macron campaigned on one set of ideas and got elected based on these ideas, only to now change to something else? Surely he was always open about his policies during his campaign, correct me if that's not case
What I am saying is, that the abstract phrase of 'unified/unification of the World' covers numerous concrete legal, economical actions, that some of either contradicts his earlier campaign promises, or weren't necessarily mentioned.
Excellent ideas but "let us not be naiive". France imposes colonial taxes on about 14 African countries 50 years after their independence, an abomination destined to keep African countries poor forever. When President Macron speaks about a new global contract, and a new framework for development, is he including this evil coercive monetary policy in the reform process. When Macron speaks of just "taxation", then he also has to consider removing this antiquated burden on African countries - still the most exploited in the world by especially Western states. Right now it is alleged that more than 80% of African foreign reserves are unfairly deposited in the French treasury.
Why he doesn't speak only in french, his accent is so horrible that's even when speaking in english translation is still needed, just ask Trump and May.
It's strategic. He's making a deliberate play to make France the "face" of Western liberalism, a role the U.S. has vacated with the election of Trump. Him speaking in English is his attempt to get media play in non-European media markets, as well as communicating his own intelligence and value as a leader (being bilingual is obviously a show of intelligence).
