A million-dollar video. I spent nearly 3 hours searching for a solution! By the way, you are the first one on RU-vid who has encountered this issue and provided a solution. What is the reason behind this? Thank you so much as well!
Thank you! I spent a few hours looking for a solution, too, and found nothing. It just seemed like this info should be out there, which is why I made this video.
Hey. My Node.js application running on replit is viewed as having its primary entry point in a file called index.js Package.js is a packager file that is also included in the repl at the time of it's creation. I followed the directions and changed my package.json file accordingly since I wanted to use the other file I produced, var.js, as the entry point for my Repl. However, even in that case, var.js is not executed-no matter how many times I click the run button, just the index.js file is. How do I stop it and why is it happening?
Thank you so much I am deleting the previous code and writing the new. Such a million dollars video. But i have question that should we always have to change the name for running different file
You chose a very good topic, however I have a constructive criticism. You might consider slowing down at key moments... and you might not know which steps will be crucial to the person watching the video. So, take each step at a measured, even pace. You too quickly gloss over the step of "SHOW HIDDEN FILES"!!!! This is a HUGE, CRUCIAL step... otherwise the user will never see the "replit" file in their project, and will wonder if he or she set up their project wrong, or if they are using a different version (mode?) of the IDE than you are currently demonstrating in the view. (Any IDE can evolve and change, after all.) The "replit" file is hidden by default, and this is a HUGE, CRUCIAL issue, in my opinion. (Especially since, in "most" (?) Java IDEs, the compiler searches for the public static void main(String[] args) function--REGARDLESS OF THE CLASS NAME!!!)
Thank you for the feedback! That's a great insight on identifying and carefully addressing crucial steps. Watching this video again, I can see what you mean, and I'll keep that in mind in the future. Thanks, again!
