This time on Films N That, we take a look at the 1984 punk-inspired, Repo Man. Otto is a young punk who goes to work as a repo-man, re-possessing cars from dildos who don’t pay their rent. He gets caught up however in a wacky alien conspiracy that see’s him chasing after a mysterious and radioactive Chevy Malibu.
What the film lacks in focus it makes up for in creativity and is a joy to watch for it’s anarchic spirit.

That's nice of you to say! Thanks! I think it's a mixture of we're quite marginal, and we don't do as much social media as we should or release videos on a regular basis. We're working on it though! 🙂

In the 1980's my girlfriend worked at a video rental store if you know what that is? I pretty much saw every movie from 1982 to 1987 at least once. Repo Man was a really good flick that I enjoyed and never really forgot. Another movie that came out the same year that is also well worth watching is, Brother form another planet. The movie put John Sayles on the map so to speak.

Funny thing is all my pals - all us in the whole punk rock thing when Repo Man came out we all would also watch The Young Ones.

The film's original proposed ending was much more nihilistic, not to mention apocalyptic: the aliens in the trunk were radioactive and decaying, bringing about a nuclear explosion that destroys Los Angeles at the end.

There's a reason why this is a cult classic.The reason the reverend and everyone is there at the end is because they all want the $20,000 reward. One note: The credits at the end run from the top to the bottom instead of the usual bottom to top.
