Golden State Warriors News Today revolves around Jonathan Kuminga contract extension rumors with reports coming out stating Kuminga and his team are seeking a five-year, $224 million maximum contract extension from Golden State. The problem is, those other guys who got their max extensions are vitally important to the success of their Team(pistons are just a train wreck, but their fans believe in Cunningham lol). The mobley and wagner deals, to me, are still weird. And then theres kuminga lol. This upcoming season is going to let us know how important he is to this roster. If he truly becomes that second option, that guy that can go out and get a bucket to turn the game around or put a dagger in a game where Curry might be struggling( games like when we face the kings, pels, mavs) then i think he could warrant that contract.

Pay Jonathan Kuminga the max! His record is comparable and some stats are better than Jaylen Brown's at this point in his career. As coach Kerr plays him more, his stats will increase. JK is a Warrior & was on the Rookie Allstar team! To base JK's contract worthiness on the contract that Poole received dismisses JK's current and future contribution as a Warrior! Want a fifth ring? @@carladavis1473 No, not crazy. Jonathan Kuminga played, during his rookie season, amongst the Rising Rookie Allstars, in the 2022 Rising Stars Challenge, during the 2022 NBA ALL-STAR weekend. Yes, he was selected as an injury replacement. However, he was chosen and played amongst the Rookie Rising Allstars. In 2023, it was notable that he was excluded off the list even though his record over some of the selected players was stronger. His exclusion was due to Warriors' system and not because of his record.

I love Kuminga and want him to stay a Warrior but he has not earned a 5 year 224 million max contract. However, I think a 4 yr 150 million contract he is worth! That is 37.5 million vs 44.8 million per year!

Thanks to Kerr's utter incompetence with regard to JK, take a look at the total mins played, cumulatively, for JK compared to Cade, Scottie, Evan and Franz...from day 1 through this past season. The difference has to be significant, as all four of them started day 1, while JK still doesn't get consistent mins. Wear and tear on JK due to minute load is MINIMAL for a #7 lottery pick going into year 4.

He is WELL worth the MAX deal. The problem is STEVE KERR. Kerr is TRASH and signing him to an extension was a HORRIBLE decision. Give JK 40 mins and 25 FGA per game and he'll give you 25+ a night, EASY.

Is he a real 4? His lack of wingspan hurts his interior D and rebounding. He's 6'8" and has a wingspan of 6'11" and green is 6'7" and has a wingspan of 7'3". Big wingspan has helped green alot in his career. Both Scottie barnes and Siakam has 7'3" wingspan.
