I’m just saying, I was a HUGE Hurt Business fan. That segment where they were protection for Monday Night Raw during that dumb ass faction with Mustafa Ali’s faction; it was so awesome and straight badass

i think what ultimately killed The Street Profits and Bobby Lashhley's faction was Judgement Day and the tag title scene being unified. Sami and Kevin were the champs, then finn and priest, then cody and jey, and then finn and priest again. During all this, they built The Street Profits up and gave them the title match on an episode of Smackdown right before WarGames. Despite the push, it was one foot in and one foot out, as you guys mentioned, and I think it was because HHH was more interested in Judgement Day. With the popularity of the Liv and Rhea storyline and Priest storylines, it is hard to say HHH was wrong.

The stuff with Nia Jax is dumb. The whole point in kayfabe is to hurt the other individual. Why are we trying to pretend that being "reckless" is a bad thing? You're not trying to protect the other individual in kayfabe. You're trying to destroy them.

Every week seems to be “imagine if AEW signs this guy!”. Feels like my AOL e-Fed in 1999 where a new wrestler debuted every week, because we ran out of stories.

Yeah, it's weird when they mix real life and the story. Bayley was essentially saying "You didn't hurt me in the story, you hurt me in real life because you're bad at your job" except she says this as part of a story line. That doesn't work. The go to example of this that always rubbed me the wrong way was an old old old, I think, RAW segment where CM Punk was whining about not being given world title opportunities despite being the best wrestler on the roster and HHH responds to him by saying "Maybe you should win more of your matches". How do you respond to that without bluntly breaking kayfabe? It was a set up then, Punk was delivery a totally kayfabe promo and Hunter was basically goading Punk to break character live on tv to address how he has no control of if he wins or not. It was an unfair line by Hunter (and part of why I thought Punk was such a hypocrite when he went off script and called out Adam Page when he wasn't present. Same ballpark) It's just as awkward now, if not as intentionally malicious. How does Jax respond on the fly? Her character is supposed to revel in hurting folks, but the thing Bayley is calling her out on isn't anything to do with that character. You could write around it, or the wrestlers could improvise if they're both on the same page, but if Jax is doing a kayfabe promo and Bayley is talking about real life events it just clashes. A worked-shoot needs to be worked by both parties you know?

Steve is so spot on about the Bayley thing with Nia. I hate it when they reference the performative nature in storyline because then, what, do they expect us to think that *that* part was fake, but the match they're going to have is real? AEW does that all the time and it's so dumb, but WWE does it sometimes too. Like, pick a lane, is what we are watching meant to be real or not?

plot twist: "What's the Hurt Business doing in the Impact Zone?" but in seriousness, it is a real shame we haven't gotten Lashley back on SmackDown even with The Profits & B-Fab so that we can actually start calling them "The Pride" already.
