Imagine being a Head Coach and getting laughed out of a meeting by your players. There's no coming back from that.. He's not dealing with college kids anymore, he's dealing with professionals.
@ I and most sane people don't believe a coach asking young men in college trying to play football to be tough, accountable and look the part of a student athlete and not an extra in a Busta Rhymes video is ANY indication of racism. But now when soft people can't get their way racism is the ploy they use.
@@langlang420 weird you'd specify a "busta rhymes" video. i mean its clear you have no idea what he actually said

@@langlang420 I have no idea what you`re referring to, but I am 100000% sure you can be a college or NFL strenght conditioning coach without claiming that "racism" is just toughness or claiming that not accepting racism means "softness".
"Urban Meyer's gonna get SONNED in the NFL" (c) Pat, a few years back, after Urban took shots at him. To me, by far one of the best predictions in the sports prognostication landscape at the moment, and I'm shocked Pat isn't bringing it back up. What class, reserve & humility - part of what separates this show.
Uche (former jags guard) on RU-vid had been TEARING him apart the past few days. And he ain’t even in the building. Imagine when the players’ eventual stories are told. Incredible
@@jerrysmith7155 I do agree with you, but at the same time I can't help but wonder if he was the catalyst for the fall. He really pissed off Ramsey, and man, to trade away the best corner in the league (because he didn't like it there), that's hard.
"I've decided to resign today as head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars. This was not an easy decision to make. Coaching in the NFL has been a life long dream of mine and I was fully committed to helping this organization be successful. I spoke to the players earlier today. Obviously they were upset but also very supportive. We have a great group of players here and I will miss them. However, after speaking with my family, who have given me their full support as they always have throughout my career, I've decided this is the right thing to do so that I can seek the help I need to overcome my sex addiction and alcoholism. I will be entering rehab shortly and I ask all of you to please respect our privacy during this difficult time." - Urban Meyer Three months later he will have conquered his "addictions" and he's announced as the new head football coach of (name of MAC school).
True. What makes me wonder is are top college coaches that disconnected from the NFL way? Do they know how it works their players go every year and I know they talk to NFL coaches.
@@jemeeladams1197 He thought he knew better. Meyer's head got too big after all those years of being part of a highly successful program. Truly great coaches (people in general) understand that success is reliant on the efforts of many and also a good bit of luck.
Honestly the moment he made the “Alabama” comment he was done. You aren’t playing 31 Alabama’s. You’re playing 31 other professional organizations who’s sole focus is to dismantle you and make you look stupid. So far opposing coaches have been very effective at doing that. What a joke, and now this. He’s not sorry for being inappropriate. He’s sorry for being caught.
Yeah, he disrespected all the NFL teams, especially his own team, with that comment. His players are like, "So you're saying you don't think we can beat Alabama?"
@@Fac3bon3s it is possible his wife knew what he was going to do. He could have a clause that if he gets fired he gets his full pay and the wife might go along with it for the big payday. Just a could be no. No clue if this is what they are trying.
if they were 4-0 then that would mean Urban was probably doing something right and the owner would have to contemplate his success vs this public f up. Public f up + losing every game = why are you still here?
My Cousin Brandon Linder told me Urban lost the locker room. He's been treating the players like they were college players and the team's morale was down in the dumps. Then he doesn't fly back with the team and the second video of him corn holing a co-ed made him a laughing stock.
The blonde girl name is Cayman Nebraska. She knows Urban as they have worked together in the past.... This could be more of a serious family issue which is disturbing but we already knew Urban's horrible past and its finally catching up with him.
@@bagofrats3464 Its amazing how you casuals expected the worst team in the NFL coming off of a 1-15 season to be winning games with a rookie QB and new head coach.
his job was honestly probably super safe until that video came out. it would be one thing if this was the offseason, but the coach partying during the season AND has yet to win does look real bad.
Lifelong Buckeye native here. I'd always called Urban a scumbag throughout his career. When he came to OSU I said "Well I guess he's "our" scumbag now". He had great success at OSU, but I never lost the idea that the guy's a scumbag. This whole thing is absolutely comical to me. I thought he wouldn't last long in JAC, but even I'm surprised how big of a mess he's made 4 games into the season.
@@grimandbilly005 As the coach at UF over 40 players were arrested and he didn’t do anything. Aaron Hernandez allegedly murdered his first victim in Gainesville. He then developed a health condition the second Alabama became a power house. Then Ohio State opened up and he got the job there. Then one of his coaches got physical with his wife and Meyer swept it under the rug until he couldn’t. There’s probably more.
This sounds like Lombardi got a text from one anonymous source saying how Meyer is concerned they might get him on cause-the most obvious concern that’s been voiced by other pundits since this story broke. Then Lombardi tweeted a cryptic message implying he knows more than he does
Here's a more important question in my mind with all of this: Was Urban Meyer doing this while h was a college coach as well? Because if he did, that steps into the realm of legal issues. Not sure about Ohio or Florida, but in Texas, ANY person in an instructional position having sexual contact with any person in a "student" position is referred to as an inappropriate relationship and that can get you up to two DECADES in prison. Maybe someone in OH or FL can comment on the legality of a college coach getting it on with college co-eds.
@The Long Game, That very thought came across my mind as well. Everyone knows in the Columbus Ohio area that Urban has a bar in Dublin, Ohio. Go figure!!!
The stunt he pulled at that bar was something he probably did A LOT during his college coaching career. Didn’t have to answer to anyone and thought that would translate to the pros. Ain’t happening Urban. He’ll be gone within the next 4 weeks..
what he did at the bar is a separate thing for me, thats his personal business. BUT, the fact that he did it shows a lack of commitment to the team to the players and to winning.
@@kingzut Can the damn man have a life? Really nobody's business but envious people like the wanker that posted the video needs to make his life have meaning by trying to out somebody. Y'all acting like this silly mess is the reason a rebuild project with a green qb is currently winless. IT'S NOT.
what stunt? Dancing with someone? Seems more to me like ya'll just couldn't wait to run em out cuz you personally don't like the guy for unknown reasons.
I sniff a conspiracy here. Ol' Urban be playing quantum chess. Doesn't want to look like a quitter, so he's trying to get fired and go to USC. Read between the lines.
.... He just outplayed himself then because the new president there has been very open about not wanting a coach that brings any scandal with him. Add on anything remotely sexual about the scandal given their recent history? There's not a snowball's chance in hell he gets hired there now.
It’s not about the morals lol atleast for me I am not judging his personal life. it’s the fact that after a close game which they lost, instead of trying to galvanize the group like a leader of men would do, he flies separately to go spend time with his “family”, at least that’s what he tells the team, until the video goes viral lol 😂. You do that as a coach , you lose the locker room because they expect more from their coach. Urban showed he doesn’t care hence him chilling at a bar. That’s how they perceive it. They didn’t even buy into his crap from the jump and he does this? Yeah it won’t fly in the pros.
Think about the owner. Is it worth paying a coach $12 million per year to get a top 5 pick? And likely will have to pay guarantees for firing him. Versus Urban violating his contract and voiding the guarantees/salary.
Yep, I think the hilarious aspect is how he gave the (supposed) excuse that he will stay behind because he wanted to visit his grandkids or something, lol it's just laughable
Urban Meyer is the reason why I don't believe Nick Saban is the best coach of all time. Winning with the best talent in you sport every year doesn't prove that you are a great coach. Urban doesn't have the best players and can't win. Saban didn't have the best players when he tried the NFL and couldn't win. They go back to college and get top 5 recruiting classes year after year that result in championships. They are good coaches but they aren't playing on a level playing field. It is also why I think Phil Jackso is a great coach, but not the greatest of all-time. Phil coached Michael Jordan, Kobe, Shaq, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman, and Pau Gasol. 11 Championships is definitely impressive but less impressed considering who you have playing for you.
First part of your comment is spot on. But respectfully, the Phil Jackson portion could not be more wrong. Coaching in the NBA is not about Xs and Os. It is about managing personalities and securing buy-in from some of the most coddled athletes on the planet. Phil was a maestro and deserved the title of Zen Master. Don't take my word for it. Anybody from his dynasties will rave about how important he was to building chemistry and creating the winning environment.
@@alecm_9459 -- Don't get me wrong. I consider Phil Jackson to be great. I just don't consider him to be the greatest. It is just an opinion. In reality, the coaches in competition for the greatest coaches ever also had multiple Hall of Famers play for them. It is kind of like playstyles may affect your opinions. I like Pat Riley and Popovic more. Pat Riley won with multiple playstyles. Riley won with run and gun and then he won with physicality and defense. Popovic won with Twin Towers and he won with pace and space. Jackson managed stars but was always the triangle. Just a preference influencing my opinion.
Dude has realised that he can’t hack it in the nfl and is trying to get back to college where people think he’s a good coach because he always has an almost nfl rookie class as a team.
Brian Daboll is still open to being a HC, he did a terrific job developing Josh Allen and a offense around his skill set, Jacksonville maybe this is an opportunity.
The blonde girl name is Cayman Nebraska. She knows Urban as they have worked together in the past.... This could be more of a serious family issue which is disturbing but we already knew Urban's horrible past and its finally catching up with him.
At least for my fantasy teams sake he finally realized he's got a good running back in Robinson. You'd think Robinson rushing for 1000 yards on a team that won one game last year would have been enough, but it took injuries to Etienne and Hyde for him to figure it out.
@@donsolos The Tebow experiment was my first red flag. He's a rookie NFL coach with a rookie QB that people believe is a generational talent and he brings in a failed QB that's been out of the league for 9 years to convert him into a tight end. WTF? I would have loved to hear his sales pitch to his GM on that one. "yeahhh so I don't think I have enough on my plate to worry about. So, I want to bring in a 32-year-old failed QB and make him a tight end."
@@nuevolaredo817 I'm pretty worried about starting him this weekend after the week Jacksonville has had. I'm tempted to start Cordarralle Patterson over Robinson after picking him up on waivers. I get the feeling Jacksonville may not be prepared as well as they should be this weekend.
@@btbarr16 I feel you, you at least have that option I only have Mixon and kamara, and well I’m obviously starting kamara and I’m force to start Robinson, I would say start Patterson since Ridley ain’t going to London for the game last time I heard but don’t take my advice not a fantasy expert haha
If that was me I would just make fun of myself and then apologize. Everyone’s had embarrassing moments it’s a lot better to just own it then joke about it. Probably would of went over way better with the players.
Maybe they can fire him for cause because he didn’t get on the team plane. It might be a stretch but I’m sure the Khans family lawyers can figure it out. Let the OC be the interim coach and get a real coach for T-Law next year.
He is finding a way to get to USC early as he can. Urban had to know that there were cameras in the hands of every individual in that restaurant. All it took was one person to shoot a video and he was busted. Urban knew there was eyes all over him at that bar! No questions asked!
Media been trying to get urban Meyer out since he signed the contract. Imagine them calling a first round qb a bust after only four games. Literally since he signed everyone in the media said he can’t do the job. Calling me just a recruiter as a coach is mad disrespectful
If he just owned it and was like "yep everyone i was finger blasting some coed at my bar in ohio" and the players would probably be like "you should of invited us!!!". This is his wife's problem.
All he had to say was he’d had too many drinks & didn’t realize how close the young lady was to him. I actually had something very similar happen to me, which sucked, cause I really liked the girl & after thinking I ‘rejected’ her by not responding to her pushing up against me, never paid me any mind again.
Definitely more than his wife’s problem, and if you think the fathers on that team would honestly support that, your as trash as this guy everyone hates
Anyone who still thinks Urban Meyer would jump from Jacksonville to a power conference coaching job is mistaken. No respectable AD or university president would (or should) offer him anything. Meyer is toast, next stop........ Last Chance U.
So the chargers might be the luckiest team in the league. Let me explain. When it came to replacing Rivers there was a real chance that Miami took Herbert and we would end up with Tua. They got lucky and Miami took Tua leaving Herbert to fall in our laps. And they also where favorites to land Urban Meyer. It was between the chargers and the jags near the end. They got lucky he chose Jacksonville, and forced the chargers to go with plan b. Coach STALEY. Could not have worked out better.
This is just like the “he’s losing the locker room” rumors. Not true at all. Khan is not going to fire him for having a woman grind on him lol 😂 wow he has way too much invested in him to fire him for that. He wants to win, and though this doesn’t look good, it’s also not against the law.
Khan will can urban, because the players, are done, with all his bull. That may fly in college, but not in the pros.Veterans, will go to Khan and demand he go.

He could’ve easily had the SC job last year without the embarrassment. His agent simply had to call the AD. Clay Helton would’ve been gone in a millisecond.
So tired of the national media beating this drum about Urban, I don't believe the team laughed after he left the room. Just another example of them going after this franchise, like they've done since day 1!!!
If a player did half of what Urban did, he’d be crucified and labeled a “troublemaker”, “cancer”, “bad teammate”. Not traveling with the team? Explaining grinding on chicks during a meeting? Seriously?
