Clear pot and saucer found here: amzn.to/3Yuuf4V If you have a monstera that will get root rot, it will definitely be a monstera Thai so a well draining mix is important! I purchased this baby from @dadeplantco on IG 🫶 🍁soil: 4 cups of indoor potting soil- whatever is accessible to you! 4 cups of coco chips- it comes in a brick when you buy it. Then you saturate it and break it down 2 cups of orchid bark- I ran out of my smaller chunks, I would’ve used that instead. 2 cups of pumice stone 2 cups of perlite 💦watering: water when the mix is completely dry. 💡lighting: The Thai Constellation’s cream green leaves occur as a mutation in its chlorophyll, so its spots do not absorb light like your green leaves do. Chlorophyll is important in turning sunlight along with carbon dioxide and water into energy, so the Thai Constellation has to work harder than most plants to photosynthesize. So light is so so important for these babies. My smaller Thai and monstera albo are both grown under my grow light but having near a well lit window with light filtering though will work well too. No direct sunlight. 🌬️Humidity: my typical humidity in my plant room with one humidifier is about 60 percent. If you notice crisp on the ends, consider having it near a humidifier.

I had to go to the 'bg city' ( I live in the sticks so anything is bigger). So went to Trader Joe's to buy food I can't get at home. Right inside the door beautiful healthy plants for$12.99 so I filled my car instead of groceries. An employee comment on the Monstera and how she had problems with plants so I told her to find you, that you know everything! I said I'd shed heard 'drown that ho' she'd be ❤at the right place

@MarisaAndChew
@MarisaAndChew Год назад
You can stake them but their internodes are super tight together so as you can see in the video, they crawl instead of climb very easily! Also, because that internode is so tight if you do decide to stake it up, you won't need to immediately go with a 6 foot pole. Mine is about the same size as this one and I popped an orchid stake in last night after I repotted just so I know it's stable the next few weeks. I did disturb my root ball though as I repotted BC I found a few snails 😭 prior to the repot it was SOLID in there with all the air roots going straight down and grabbing in. I find the roots grow fast and massive compared to the deliciosa even though they're both supposed to be deliciosa 🤷🏼‍♀️

You should loosen up those roots. Everyone thinks monsteras like to be root bound. They tolerate it but don't prefer it. With roots like that it slows the growth. And we all know that monsteras like to be big, bold, and beautiful.

@elbercho
@elbercho 3 месяца назад
It's actually helpful to loosen the roots of a root-bound plant before repotting. the roots are used to grow in circles, so loosening them prevents further circling. I'd also slightly cut them; this promotes the growth of new fine roots
@chrisjohnson1715
@chrisjohnson1715 3 месяца назад
@@elbercho Thats absolute nonsense and easy to disprove, take a rootbound plant pot it up without disturbing the roots and see if the roots keep circling.... you;re spouting absolute nonsense.
@elbercho
@elbercho 3 месяца назад
@@chrisjohnson1715 no, I'm not. Giving the lower third of the root ball a few cuts will improve the root development. If the root bounding is very severe I even trim a few millimetres off. This does not traumatize a healthy plant. For planting a potted root-bound plant, especially a bush or a tree outdoors it's even NECESSARY to do that, otherwise, depending on the species, there's an extremely high chance that the rooting space will stay limited for a long time or even forever. So give me a break, smartass. I know my shit.

It's really not that difficult to get rid of the chlorine. just fill the water in a bowl with a big surface and let it sit there, so the chlorine evaporates. after at least 24 hours, better 48 hours, it's gone. You could also boil the water or use a filter with activated charcoal.
