Excellent review as always. I agree with the pros/cons. I prefer to mount scopes with my Arisaka tool but I can't use it due to the added material that looks good but it's in the way. This is my go-to mount as I often prioritize weight and build quality. While the retail price is $325 you can often pick these up on sale in the $250 range. I just did from OP last month. Few add on comments. You can get a ROF-90 or ROF-45 red dot offset mounts for these. I like the ROF-90, looks good without adding bulk. The ROF-45 in my opinion is not a a great angle in relation to the bore. My other con is the scope base is milled for an offset red dot arm but reptilia never produced it. Regarding to return to zero the best I've used is ADM QD scope mounts. I've heard good things about warne but haven't tried them

Have you tested the Badger condition one yet? Looked through your catalog and couldn't find it I'm very curious how it stacks up. With its variety of add ons and the fact it can be had in clear anodized, wich I'm a sucker for. Wondering what if any thoughts you might have on the Badger.

The arisaka scope leveler still works on there, that’s what I used. And Ive always wondered if the accessory holes worked with the badger comm stuff, they look similar.

My mount is a little different from yours. The mounting screws are hex screws with no springs. However I had mine over a year now so some changes was probably made.

i put one on one of my builds, it's really nice and i think it looks super cool, but i won't ever spend that much again. i hope. originally i thought i read it works with the badger accessories, but apparently it doesn't.

Im trying to find a nice set of medium rings with a top mount rmr top cap at 12ok. My pri rings i need a separate ring set for a mount. I use the pri diving board base mount and use traditional rings

Do you think the return to zero could be your torque wrench slightly changing? Have you had mounts pass this test with flying colors?

I got the Reptilian Aus 34MM for $243 brand new on Optics Planet. I decided to go with black anodized, after discovering the FDE is actually gold. Anyways, this will be holding a Steiner M8Xi 34MM 1-8X scope. I hope it’s a good mount it’ll be here in a few days.

I understand that the build quality is exceptional and there is no doubt that it is. With that said, is a $325 scope mount going to secure your scope or hold zero any better than a less expensive quality scope mount that sells for around 100 dollars like the Sig Alpha Mount? It appears that all of the special attention to build quality is more for looks and feel than for function. What am I missing?

I'm not a huge fan of this mount. I've purchased 2 and have had issues. One gun suffered a wandering zero. I'm willing to blame myself for poor optic mounting, but worth noting. My main problem is the ring screws and the threading. I have stripped 2 holes in the base rings -- ruining the mount. The aluminum is just too soft. Also, the ring screws are proprietary. They are 8-40s -- which you can find at any hardware store -- but the screw heads are undersized to fit in the screw holes on the top rings. You cannot find gun screws at the hardware store that will fit in this mount. This seems to be a deliberate design decision on the part of Reptilia. Indeed, after messaging them to inquire, they have the screws custom manufactured specifically for their mount. You _have_ to order extras from Reptilia at a premium, if you want replacements or extras.
