Then the elite did a really good job of dividing! Gotta give them some credit where it is due. Algorithms working as intended. Now get back to being angry at each other while the elite gets away. By the way, the elite stands above political parties and rule them both
Except the guy on the Right with the suit and facial hair. Dude definitely was not backing down at all from his beliefs to point where the woman called him a fascist at the end because he didn't get to talk about his extreme beliefs. Also his opinion on abortions made no sense. What if his mother was in a state where Abortion has become illegal? Would he be cool with that law then? It doesn't seem like it based on how he supported his mother's decision.
As a German I really wish for the US to have more political diversity in the future. Two parties just isn't enough to represent a complex society, especially not one with 300M+ people. We got dozens of parties here, only ~10 are relevant though.
Unfortunately both parties here in the states will work to ensure that no other parties can become viable because of the risk of the people actually gaining more control over the financial backers that line their pockets.
Generally speaking, West Coast republicans are more liberal than republicans from the south. If I lived in California, and not in Texas, I would probably vote republican. But as long as I'm here in Texas, I will never vote republican.
republican doesnt automatically mean you stand for every single thing you hear on the media it stands for. and vice versa for democrats. majority of people are down the middle on a lot of issues.
I thought this was supposed to be a place for conversation to be had between people with political disagreements. Instead, you have the producer chiming in to take a side. I love Middle Ground from Jubilee because the producers do not get involved and let people hash it out themselves.
They're just playing their role and raising points. If a lot of those Devil's Advocate interjections seem to lean left to you, well then that's another question you have to ask yourself.
Ok this is unfair, 2 democrats against 1 republican, the person outside the camera was also involved, am nether republican or democratic, but I can understand both party’s and I can see how a person could get overwhelmed by questions.
@@rockieleftwing except that unless black women hate themselves, they are progressive. They have to be or else they support not having human rights as a woman and a black person.
I love how you guys brought a diverse group of conservatives/republicans and not the media curated trope of the stereotypical one. Showing that their are conservative minorities is important
tbf most minorities are socially conservative for example, latinos and asians, the only reason they aren't for the republican party as a whole is because they are intrinsically against them. older generations specifically.
There's a lot of Conservative minorities out there. Especially Latinos who lead all minorities in switching to more conservative the past 5 years or so.
@@MKF30 Latinos have always been conservative generally, specifically the older generations. it's not a suprise to hear them switch parties when the only thing stopping them is the immigration issue. latinos don't support republicans on immigration. but the actual fact is most latinos still significantly skew democratic and few signs of long term change. the change isn't significant at all, and it'll continue to diminish.

I think the older gentleman was great and spoke a real truth with “I think abortion really goes along with conservative principles…imposing laws on what you can do with your own body is against freedom”. So interesting

Each couple filmed for over an hour so a LOT was cut in order to fit them all into a single video under 10minutes My lady is the gorgeous gal in pigtails and she was fully expecting to go deep into policies and such but I reminded her that it’s a drinking game so this is a bit more what I expected.
Hah. My thoughts exactly when I saw this in my notifications. They're already out in full force in this very comment section. Politics really bring out the worst in people. I try to not associate myself with parties (or politics in general) due to how absolute everything is nowadays, but there's still no way in hell I'd participate in this.
This is a great representation of people who are more aligned with a singular party but can still hold their own thoughts and opinions. Also, that producer needs to shut up and let them talk.
Sojourner truth, Harriet Tubman, Douglass Freeman, Booker T. Washington, Malcolm X!! Education is a problem. It’s important that we all want the same things (a safe country with good schools + small businesses), and we’re OK that people have different ideas on how to do it.
I said Desmond Tutu, Nelson Mandela, Malcom X, Rosa Parks, and MLK. (Not American, so really only people I've been exposed to through media and otherwise)
Why was the producer getting involved and speaking to make one side look bad? Like wasn't it supposed to be a conversation between the two parties by themselves? Not getting the producer involved? And it wasn't like she was asking questions to keep the conversation going, she was basically answering the questions. They might as well have pulled up a third chair for the producer to speak. Times when the producer interfered: 3:24, 3:49, 4:34, 5:50, 6:02, 7:39, 7:56
@@gangsterg1936 haven't watched much of their video just the ones I've seen reaction youtubers watch...like this one I saw on The Comment Section with Bret Cooper...
I would kindly like to ask the producer to keep quiet. You are clearly a democratic trying to put a Republican into a corner. If you want to take part in the game, then do so. Don't sit in the background questioning Republicans
As a fellow conservative, im disappointed the representation of the "republicans/conservatives" on this show. They're probably moderates at best...definetly not a republican or a conservative
1) i feel bad for my boy Dio, got paired up with the most aggressive one. 2) can the producer stop interjecting and biasing the video....youre only putting pressure on one side and its putting undo stress when answering the topic
this would have been 1000 times better without the peanut gallery off camera CUTting (see what I did there?) in and interrupting/actively trying to make things more hostile. not cool CUT.
Can the producer please shut up? Like if you want to participate then go sit down with them. man, that guy should've responded, "all the Supreme Court did, was deferred a decision that was never protected by the constitution", which is literally a fact.
Your producer needs to keep her mouth closed. These are supposed to be one-on-one discussions, yet she keeps interjecting. Its rude, unprofessional, and ruins the entire environment.
Am I the only one who felt that the producer was cutting in too much? The video was great, but it’s intention is for the two individuals to learn and talk with each other. Yet the producer chiming in and making not so subtle remarks ruins that.
I think this is interesting: some of these conservatives seem to be conservatives mostly because they disagree with the Democratic party, but they have some “progressive” or leftist ideals. I think they’re more aptly classified as Independent. And by that I don’t mean centrist, I just mean Independent.
I'm Republican and mainly interact with Republicans and I can say it's a very diverse group when it comes to view. Some people I know think nobody should have been shot on January 6, some would have been fine with the military going in and clearing it out. Some are against supporting Ukraine, some are very much for supporting Ukraine. For foreign intervention, against foreign intervention. For better gun laws, against any gun laws. There's a ton of Republicans with widely varying views.
I like how this video had two political parties being identified, but with people who have varying opinions on certain aspects of the party itself. I also really enjoyed how you put everyone together, specifically the girl with pigtails and the guy with the mustache, because those two were probably the most stereotypical from their identifying parties (not physically, but with their individual ideologies) and watching them talk with more of an extremist/ intense perspective from their sides was interesting.
I don't think the pigtail lady was being extremist at all. She looks like she might be trans, in which case she has good reason to feel the way she feels.
@@elhammo7478 Definitely, I just think out of everyone they seemed to vary the most from one another, and in a way I see that as being more extremist due to them being more open and conflicting with one another's specific arguments compared to the other duos, but that's definitely not a bad thing, if anything it made me enjoy their conversation the most and it shined a light on the fact that you can have different opinions, but still have a discussion that has respect as the main tone between both people.
@@stephaniegonzales5450 Hi there! Pigtail lady here. I really appreciated your comment. This was my first time on camera ever and its scary with all the lights and everyone looking at you. I dont blame the people who couldnt think of historical black people....its tough on the spot. I was literally shaking at times. To your comment, they edited out the part where I introduced myself as an anarcho-socialist, so you are correct in thinking I am a bit left of Democrat. I really value treating people with basic respect and decency, but Im also very opinionated. I tend to give people the same energy as I get. What I was saying with the "difference of opinion" bit is this- we can disagree about tax rates or immigration or foreign policy or whatever, those are opinions and, as adults we should be capable of communicating and living with people with whom we have conflicting opinions. Labeling me a groomer pedophile, denying access to healthcare, etc...those are beyond differences of opinion. If you think I shouldnt exist or should be dehumanized or worse, those are irreconcilable differences. Dio was really cool to talk to. We had different opinions on a lot of questions but we were able to be kind and respectful. I never once felt anger or hatred or anything. That is honestly a big problem "The Left(tm)(c)(r)." We often agree on the important really big stuff; but argue with little compromise on the smaller insignificant stuff. Sorry for the novel...just been on my mind lately. Thanks for your kind words.
@@elhammo7478 Hi there. Pigtail Lady here. I appreciate your support, and you are correct. Thank you for the validation. It seems small but its honestly exhausting defending my right to exist day after day after day. It often feels like speaking into the void. ❤️
This is a sham. The producer can't step in to help one side, that ruins the honest dialogue and makes it more of a shouting match. Also I've never met conservatives as soft as these, either they were afraid to express their true feelings because of the hostile environment or they are borderline centrists. It's okay to be a centrist, but I think the video would have been a little more productive if these people actually disagreed on some things and had to explain their side.
i really like everyone who was chosen for this. i think the producer was being obnoxious by interjecting whenever a republican made a point, but overall i think the people playing were good choices. i knew i liked the guy with long hair a lot, he looks different than someone i would usually agree with but he was pretty cool in the end. don't judge a book by its cover! as a conservative girl, this gives me a lot of hope because it shows that dems and reps CAN get along! plus, hearing how similar a lot of these people are deep down is great :)
Where are you getting that she wouldn't swap? She was questioning the guy that he "hates them that bad" that he wouldn't switch for 20mil, implying that she would for that much money-but they never showed her actual answer, unfortunately.
the ending kinda explains the entire problem and is the epitome of the 2 parties' dynamic. "I'm conservative" and her response was to call the guy a fascist. Very mature response and is definitely likely to bring people over to her side /s. People just saying their right leaning opinion and then getting shamed by both the other parties members and even the show-runners a little bit themselves just shows why no progress will ever be made, unfortunately.

You know what? I'd LOVE to see more of Anita, and not just because she's outstandingly pretty (soo damn fine), but I wanna see her interact with more diverse groups of people given that she identifies as a republican.
I appreciate being shown that there are Republicans out there that share some typically liberal ideas and Democrats that share some typicallu conservative ideas. Because it seems like right now in the media they only show the extremes of both sides (which do exist but I'd be willing to bet are in the minority) and just bash and slander each other the whole time.

The interruptions in these sects seem to explicitly exploit the Republicans in a manner that even if agreed with, they're being criminally interrogated for their ideals _[that isn't to mention that many of the Republican representative are rather far from the conservative side of the political spectrum; the majority of the party]._ At least with the way this was presented, the expectation of the video was for there to be sort of common ground between the two ideologies; not to chastise one specific side for theirs.
People's perceptions of political parties are so tainted by the media/social media - THE MAJORITY people have diverse, nuanced opinions, and are not cookie cutters of the most extreme viewpoints of our parties!
Mine was MLK, Rosa Parks, Thurgood Marshall, Rodney King, and Harriet Tubman. I also thought about Dr. Charles Drew, but couldn't remember his name immediately.
@@toastbrot_junkie9037 Thurgood Marshall was first black supreme court justice. He was replaced by Clarence Thomas. Harriet Tubman is credited with the underground railroad. Rodney King was a criminal mistreated by cops that led to full on riots in the late 80s early 90sish, and Dr. Charles Drew invented the modern medical procedure for blood transfusion.
I think most people are not the extremists that we usually see represented. Like said, I believe most people can find common ground with anyone on the other side. However, those extremists do exist. I have had to guard my kids from a lot of family because of their extreme (often pro violence) viewpoints.
You was not watching the full video, old boy made it very clear at the end that he is extremist, but they just didn’t hit that fascist shit in this truth or drink.
what extremist? both parties are capitalist to the bone, the GOP is descending into fascism and Democrats are run by the conservative wing, not the progressives which aren't extremist either.
I think what we often times disregard is that you can support a party but NOT agree with EVERYTHING that party stands for. You're bound to disagree with something. Your party may be doing something you consider wrong. And you're allowed to be discontent with that and call that out.
I know! Some people think you are forced to believe everything in your party, but the truth is that you can be a Republican/Democrat and disagree with them too.
This rlly gave me hope honestly, all of them seemed pretty chill and kind. I loved that they each respected each others opinions for the most part and they got along well with each other. I feel like the media often gives us lots of extreme examples from both sides so this was nice to see.
