Casein found in animal products such as meat and dairy breaks down into Beta-Casomorphin, an opioid peptide. which binds with the opiate receptors and has a strong opiate-like effect. Which would appear to be similar to that of the drug described. In which case a daily spoonful of good quality natural yogurt might be the secret to feeling well.

I fasted when I got it and it was over in no time. Some of the many benefits of doing occasional extended fasting: Blood clotting is reduced and blood clots and arterial plaque are reabsorbed into the body. Blood pressure is quickly and dramatically lowered. Fribrosis/scarring is reversed over time and telomeres are lengthened, which also helps with lung fibrosis. Fasting increases nitric oxide. Reflexes and short term memory are increased. Fasting stimulates phagocytosis, the ingestion of bacteria, plaques and viruses by the immune system. After 72 hours or more fasted, your body recycles large numbers of immune bodies and creates new ones, rejuvenating your entire immune system. Vitamin D plasma levels are increased, and vitamin D in turn increases autophagy. Fasts from 36-96 h actually INCREASE metabolic rate due to norepinephrine release! Weight loss from fasting only loses10% lean tissue and 90% fat compared to the typical 25% lean tissue and 75% fat lost when calorically restricting for long periods. The hunger hormone ghrelin lowers with extended fasting and rises from dieting. Blood sugar and insulin are lowered, allowing white blood cells to move more freely throughout the body and do their job. Ideal blood sugar is around 80. Some viruses activate glycolosis (the release of sugar in the body) and clinically it has been shown that decreasing glucose metabolism in the body weakens the influenza virus. Thymus is regenerated, which suppresses aging and renews the immune system. When you move out of MTOR your body shuts down the building blocks of the cell which are used to produce organelles and proteins. This means the mechanisms needed by viruses to replicate are by and large unavailable when you are in a deeply fasted state. What breaks a fast? Anything with protein or carbohydrates in it will break a fast, though if the amount is tiny you will go back into ketosis very quickly. Most teas and herbs are OK. Most supplements and meds will either break ketosis directly or contain a filler that will. Many medications are dangerous to take while fasting so you may have to talk to your dr. about discontinuing them during a fast. Does fasting lower testosterone? No, it raises it when the fast is broken by increasing lutenizing hormone and helps build muscle by increasing insulin sensitivity! The hormone Leptin is an immunomodulator that keeps the body from attacking itself and obesity causes leptin resistance. Fasting very quickly reduces leptin resistance and leptin levels and one day of fasting can cut your leptin levels in half and gets your immune system working properly again! Does the body preferentially prefer glucose as a fuel? No, your body always runs mainly on fat except for brief periods of very intense exercise. Your brain also prefers to burn ketones at a rate of around 2.5 to 1 when they are available in equal quantity to glucose. Fasting stimulates the AMPK complex and activates autophagy. Autophagy (literally self eating) will cause cells to recycle foreign matter such as viruses and kill cancerous and senescent cells. AMPK does many helpful things in the body including activating the body's antioxidant defenses. Deep ketosis virtually eliminates chronic inflammation in the body. This can offset the life threatening symptoms of viral pneumonia which effectively kills you through inflammation. This also creates BHB ketones in your body, which also help your immune system and anti-oxidative system, especially in the brain. Ketones also provide an additional energy source during infection, which is critical when trying to fight off a bug. In fact you can have as much as three times the total energy available in your blood when you are in deep ketosis, or even more. It increases mitochondrial function and repairs mitichondrial DNA, leading to improved ATP production and oxygen efficiency and thereby making cells better able to fight off infection. Increased mitochondrial function also has the added benefit of increasing your metabolism and cancer prevention! When you fast, this stimulates apoptosis in senescent or genetically damaged cells. This kills these cells off completely. Senescent cells are responsible for the effects of aging and are the root cause of the development of cancer. If it were possible to destroy them all it would completely stop aging and cancer. That is not possible but fasting can help limit these effects by killing off many of the affected cells and limiting the future effects of aging. Fasting also releases BDNF and NGF in the blood which stimulates new nerve and brain cell growth, helping a great deal with diseases like MS, peripheral neuropathy and Alzheimers. In fact, the biochemical regulator of BDNF production is beta-hydroxybutyrate, which is the same ketone the body produces to nourish the brain while fasting. Fasting also increases telomere length, negating some of the effects of aging at a cellular level. A fasting mimicking diet for 3-5 days in a row also provides many of the same benefits as water fasting. FMD usually has 200-800 calories, under 18 g of protein and under 18 g of carb. Exogenous ketones can aid with fasting, making it easier in healthy people and allowing some people with specific issues to fast in spite of them without worrying as much about hypoglycemia. Children, pregnant or nursing women should not fast for periods longer than 16 hours. People with pancreatic tumors or certain forms of hypoglycemia generally cannot fast at all. Type 1 diabetics can also fast but it is more complicated and should be approached with caution as it could lead to ketoacidosis. Those with Addison's disease may also be unable to fast without liberal use of exogenous ketones, depending on severity. If you experience extreme symptoms of some kind, especially dizziness then simply break the fast and seek advice. The sad truth is that the medical/pharmaceutical industry is not interested in the well being of the people, but just in profits. I am convinced there are a lot more drugs that are out of patent and therefore ignored, that could perfectly be used to treat a range of conditions. Many drugs that run out of patent are replaced by "better" drugs, that only exist for the profit of the supplier, patented on flimsy evidence. We should just refuse to use new patented drugs and in most cases we would be better off.

There's a reason why they "don't recognize Lyme".. Ontario's chief medical officer Dr Keiran Moore has developed a Lyme vax (sponsored by Pfizer) and it will roll out once covid is wrapped up. This obvious conflict of interest concerned no one in this province or country. We had a pharma bought scientist directing our covid response. He will get his reward soon as this vax comes to market and our neglected Lyme patients will get their shots (Lyme isn't tested or treated properly here either, the lucky patients can afford to go to the US for that). And no one has bothered to look for any natural treatments nor enquired with Naturopaths, who have always been silenced.

It was definitely stating to take great care to make sure there is no mold in your environment, because most people that develop autoimmune disease tend to be extra sensitive to it. Also recommended eliminating as much stress as possible for your life, I'm sure by now you've noticed the effects of that. 💜 Sorry about your son not being well. Where it may or may not be of use is for those who temporally or long term cannot exercise where it seems perhaps lower doses than in normal medication seems indicated. For me though I would be wary of a drug such as this without weekly blood checks to keep an eye on liver function as there are people whose liver function is harmed. Better to use the advice of exercise where adverse effects to the liver are not an issue.

Hi Dr. John Campbell! This is what real doctors who care about the well-being of their patients are supposed to be doing. And this is the role of all the elders in our community - speak up so that younger generations know the truth. These discussions are empowering people to be brave and ask about medications that are cheaper and more effective and have been well tested because they are old medications that followed all the steps needed to make something relatively safer for sick people. I know that the pharma companies want to remove old medications whose patents have expired because their GOAL is to ensure people remain sick for ever so that their shareholders can PROFIT from diseases. Keep having these discussion so that people are empowered to say NO to toxic drugs and drive those disease mongers and profit mongers out of business. Great job Dr. Campbell.

More good mood 'endorfins'? ~ yes please! Many years ago I read that when we smile we make good mood 'endorfins', and that when, for no obvious reason, you put a smile on your face, for example when being (alone) at home (or where ever else) while feeling really depressed and not at all in the mood for some sort of a pre-fabricated smile, but still, by making your face smile, the muscles that pull/set the smile on one's face, then also produce nnatural, safe, gratis smile-endorfins, or good mood endorfins! I practice this precious knowledge, and it does work for me. Greetings from the Netherlands!

Dr Campbell, Dr Cohen is so down to earth. If only, all doctors were the same. Its extraordinary what we can do when people with a passion for what they are trained to do tell others of their positive experiences. Conversely we just had pandemic where doctors were told what to do by govt authorities who couldn't even spell the word doctor but could certainly see the money at whatever the health cost. Great work guys!

It IS a scandal, and patients are being abused while not receiving the healthcare they need and deserve. I have been victim of so much malpractice and unprofessional conduct that I am better off without "care" that does not care one single bit about my actual well-being. It is hard for family and friends that I am not getting regular check-ups and screening, especially since I have a number of issues including autoimmune disease. But I will never set my foot in a doctor's office or a hospital ever again unless there is a radical change. Thank you for driving that change Dr. Campbell.

So very interesting about Naltrexone, thank you John and Dr Cohen. I noticed it listed on the updated FLCCC i-recover treatment protocol and looked it up. I remember it being written on patients' drug charts in the prn dosing section when they might go through DTs as they went through alcohol withdrawal in hospital. Your explanation of its effects was comprehensive and impressive. It sparks a lot of ideas for potential use. With regard to anxiety and depression, I wonder if it might help children/teenagers to get over their body dysmorphia, which is a mental illness, and so prevent the abominable catastrophe of hormone blockers being given and predatory mutilating surgery?

Great interview John and thanks too to Dr Cohen for his insight into his experience using this 'Orphan' medication. This raises the question of how many other medications are sitting gathering dust that may have other uses than for what they were originally intended for? But as he says there is no money in using these medications even if they have the capabilities to help many other illnesses. What also came through in the interview was that he treats people on an 'individual' basis which is something seriously missing in the medical world today! Thanks for the links too John. I assume that this is only available on prescription from a GP (in UK) and tbh I would imagine that most GPs nowadays probably have never heard of this medication cz there is no incentives to prescribe it! Hope you have this Dr back on again to hear more about this medication.

Casein found in animal products such as meat and dairy breaks down into Beta-Casomorphin, an opioid peptide. which binds with the opiate receptors and has a strong opiate-like effect. @@WeighedWilson No it doesn't! Look up foster. It is a verb, to foster and look after something. So the doctor is the foster parent/person, not the drug. It is an orphan because it has no use. Both my brother and father found low does tissue salts to be very effective at greatly reducing the symptoms of severe hay fever they both suffered from. My father was opposed to taking them but did so when he saw the positive impact it had on my brother's symptoms.

Thank you Doctors. I see a pulmonary specialist today at OSU and Im going to ask them about Naltrexone for treatment for COPD ,anxiety ,inflammation, fatigue &depression. I'm curious if this has been helpful with patients that have sleep apnea? Well, we see and I will let you know what they say. Thanks again Dr. Campbell. I know you had a video pertaining to alternative depression treatments and your studies on depression. I'm sure a lot of people have been suffering from bouts of depression&fatigue associated with several causes the past 3years, whether from the vaccine, or getting Covid&long term effects from either, not to mention the loss of loved ones, employment, and everything else associated with what everyone has had to deal with for the past 3years. Oh, and now we hear that studies show the yolks of eggs are helpful against "harmful proteins " and of course were now being told, again, that eggs are bad...I wonder if it's just coincidence that chickens are being culled&shortages of eggs now?🤔 Aren't eggs used in the process somehow of antibiotics&other meds, they say don't take if your allergic to eggs? Yes, maybe I'm just going down a rabbit whole, but... 🤔... 🤗❤️🙏

@@double2mo382 it was rescheduled for next week😒, but will definitely let you know then. In the meantime I'm going to ask my primary care doctor about it also. This sounds so promising and as a caregiver I know so many that this could benefit, myself&family members included. 🤗❤️🙏

Thank you for helping bring low dose Naltrexone out of the closet! I take 1.5mg per day for ME-CFS. It really helps some and not others which could be related to its variations in dosing.

Thanks, Dr. John, and to Dr. Michael Cohen. I was in Urology (all sorts of circulatory / metabolic / endocrine aspects, there!), but Dad was an Immunologist-Allergist, and the CNS has fascinated me from my first days as Med Student in Graz. Although these case reports are essentially anecdotal, they make me prick up my ears - the subject deserves further (controlled!) study. Financing? Perhaps the Gates Foundation could be interested, and NIH / NHS / PEI / RKI come to mind… I think it’s because the term Homœostasis is so ancient that the concept gets neglected (or worse, misused for scams), we still know far too little about the self-regulatory pathways of the human organism. Three precepts have guided me well, throughout: First, do no harm (invasive procedures are last resorts!); People are different; Help patients heal themselves.

as it happens I have Low dose Naltrexone in my cabinet (ordered from India just in case many months ago)- and because of this video I tried it the first time after watching, I am sleeping better, but most of all, I notice I can run...... my whole life I have had asthma and so made a point of Never running anywhere. I can totally run - beat my daughter - she was out of breath and I was not. This medicine appears tp be a life changer! I have only taken 1.5 mg for 3 days.

My mom suffers from chronic pain and did well a few years ago on low dose Naltrexone, but was too expensive to continue. This year the price decreased and started again a month ago. I am hopeful it will help her.

I'm on LDN (low dose Naltrexone) for my cancer through an integrative doctor who I go to in addition to my regular oncologist. Main stream treatment leaves a lot to be desired in the US, fueled by big pharma and $$$. I read the book How to starve cancer by Jane Mclelland, so following her advice on blocking cancer cells from replicating by using lots of supplements. So many of these orphan drugs can be used for cancer treatment and it's up to the patient alone to find out about them.

I have had Hashimoto's thyroiditis for over a decade. While thyroid medication, diet and lifestyle have helped with my symptoms, I find myself in a perpetual fog. I have good days and bad days, but the low mood and fatigue are my constant, loyal sidekicks. I asked my endocrinologist a couple of months ago if I can try LDN. Her eyes grew wide, and stunned, she asked why I need meds for addiction. If there is ever a study, I will be the first in line to sign up!

Fantastic video Dr. Campbell! Top man! And your guest! (Fed up with the backward thinking Doctors/NHS!) I CANT even get my REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS from my GP! For Depression Anxiety and Chronic Pain! So this is very interesting for me! It's a DISGRACE that these things are not open well known and on the table! Same as CBD oll should be being prescribed and Psilocybin! Both for Mental health issues and physical pain! It's a DISGRACE and BIG PHARMA control that's STOPPING patients having access to these drugs that could CURE instead of poison the system and not even work! Which is that current state of affairs! Well done! I hope you get a Knighthood for your work! It's more than deserved your work over the last 3 years especially!! Cheers from London 👍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿🇬🇧🙏
