They turned Pat and her acquaintances into a big tongue in cheek comedy sequence by the mid 2000s - the poor rehashing of the 1998 bitch-cow scene etc. But the “as Jewish as a bacon saaaandwich” line is a real classic!
It reflected reality. And "fat pat" usually only went because it rhymed. Most people have a descriptive nickname using a feature of their physical appearance, especially if you knew a lot of people by sight rather than name. Most of the time it isn't maliciously intended, although some folk can be nasty buggers.

EastEnders is not the same without Pat Butcher portrayed by Pam St. Clement because she made a very good impact during my early childhood, my teenage years and my days as a young youth.
Wow, there’s a huge gap in clips - 1988-1998. I appreciate you may not have access to all the episodes but a lot happened between Pat and others throughout the 90s.

Was it the producers or was it the actress decision? I mean Wendy Richards leaving was such a shock then her death wasn't that long after. Maybe it was necessary for her to take the time for herself.
Is it me or does this seem to be short given how long Pat was in EastEnders for? She had run ins with other characters like: Pauline Fowler, Carol Jackson, David Wicks, Cindy Beale, Ian Beale and even Dot Branning. I appreciate that there will be clips missing. Oh, and how is that infamous argument with Mo not on here?
@@theeastendboy Yeah, we'll be looking forward to seeing that. Pat is a well loved and much missed EastEnders icon. Am I the only one who thinks that Linda Carter has inherited Pat's collection of earrings? If so, it's evident her legacy lives on.

Pat and Peggy didn't like each other at first girl fighting but they ended up as friends Peggy and Pat reminding each other of thier catfight then Peggy takes out her tablets takes one and dies Barbara and Pam are amazing very good actresses
