For those of you that are having problems with amdgpu or not getting to the desktop at all please take a look at the Non Free (as in freedom) Rescatux here: rescatux.sourceforge.net/repo/README.non-free.html .
man i love this guys voice. May not be super perfect sounding but it is slow enough for both beginners and non native speakers (like me) to understand without having to rewind and each syllable is articulated clearly.
¡Gracias por el tutorial tan detallado! 😄 Salvaste a mi computadora de formatearla desde cero, ojalá hubiera conocido la herramienta desde antes. Saludos desde México 🇲🇽
Should Rescatux work from a USB stick to recover Ubuntu ? I tried to download and save to a USB stick but it wont allow me to ? Must i use YUMI or RUFUS ?
Everytime I boot up the rescatux i end up at an login prompt: progress login: ?! root/root root/toor and so on...dows not work :( Any ideas ? I've never seen any gui
will this work on a NUC which has only Ubuntu loaded , and no windows OS at all ? because i dont have a CD Drive do i use rescatux on a USB stick with RUFUS or YUMI
Support questions should go into the Rescatux Github issues page. Anyways... My recommendation is to use Balena Etcher to put Rescatux onto the USB stick (Beaware the USB stick will be completely erasen). As we don't have the latest Shim+Grub you might need to turn off Secure Boot on your UEFI for Rescatux to boot properly on your device. Hopefully in less than one year the newest Rescatux version will be released and you won't need to turn off Secure Boot if the UEFI is too new.
Hi, thanks for your video. I have booted to my Rescatux usb and retrieved my los Windows MBR it said that it was successful. When I attempted to shut down I got a message saying if I don't save the changes i would loose my changes. I don't know how to save my changes? Could you please tell me where I can save the changes? Thanks a lot 🙏❤️🙏
Rescatux support should go into the Rescatux issues page but anyway... Well, that's probably a message related to the Live session which always says that because whatever you do in a live session is not saved unless you specifically save it onto your hard disk. As Rescapp makes sure to commit/save its changes to the internal hard disk you are fine.
Yes, it's free for both professional and personal use. This is free as freedom software. Please check www.gnu.org/philosophy/free-sw.en.html for more information.
