The reason for these shows are not so you can say how to stupid people are, but the reason is to show that everyone makes mistakes, and to show how you can prevent those types of things from happening to you!
urbanpinedollies yesyou are right and i am in chiled development and we learned to lack the pisisnes up so they wont get to them and thats how i learned
This really was a pure accident unfortunately. I can tell both the mothers were very responsible and caring. Especially when Linda said she closed the bathroom door where the bucket of bleach was sitting on the floor, knowing the babies were nearby. The only thing I can say they could have done differently was maybe had the babies in the same room as them instead of in the bedroom like that. Or even had one of the older kids sort of keeping an eye on the babies while they were both busy in the kitchen, sort of like a mother’s helper. But again, accidents sometimes still happen no matter how careful you are. So glad Baby Sierra was okay after all this, amazing to think she’s a young woman in her early 30’s now. Perhaps she has some little babies of her own even.
There are some situations when you are thinking "those idiots" or "survival of the fittest", but this episode is a reminder that accidents can happen to anyone and it's impossible to protect against everything. Sometimes things just happen. So learning how to AVOID accidents is good, but preparing on how to handle crisis after it happened is just as critical.
The mom did close the door at first. But unfortunately, the little boy left it open after he went inside to use the bathroom. This is really why you should not try to multi-task too much when you have little ones because you can become distracted very easily. But I know sometimes we just do t have a choice since we have to get things done while the little ones are there. Just shows you how quickly kids can move.
@Sammy Wilson That’s a terrible thing to say, I don’t find it funny. It was not the little boys fault either, he was just a child. The babies were not his responsibility, plus he probably thought they were already asleep anyway. It was an accident, these things just happen sometimes.
geez, doesn't anyone realize how old these shows are? everything was done different back then, there was no baby safety products and accidents like this is why baby safety shit was eventually invented.
lmao these are from the 1990s, not the 1700s! "everything was done different back then" is a little extreme 😂😂 there were lots and lots of baby safety products in existence so your sentence about that is also untrue in every way. regardless: common sense had already been invented back then too, lol!!!! i'm a grown adult and when i was a child my mother knew not to leave buckets full of lethal cleaning products out... good parents of ANY generation know not to ever leave a BABY unattended....
Definitely! I was born in the early 90’s, so I kind of grew up during the times when safety was becoming more developed, especially with kids. These episodes would sometimes confuse me as a kid when people would not be as careful, like not wearing a helmet on a bike for example. But as I’ve gotten older, I’ve had to realize that I grew up in an era which emphasized on these safety rules more than they were during these times. It’s just whatever you knew growing up, which influences your perspective of things. The 70’s was even worse than the 80’s & 90’s when it came to safety. Had this episode been in the 70’s, the mother probably would have just scrubbed the floor with bleach while the babies were awake and playing. At least here, they were trying to do it during their nap time.
Well, I guess we can't think out every event and prevent every accidents. This was just an accident that, yes, could've been prevented, but probably wasn't thought about. It's just lucky she's ok.
The mother had no way of knowing her son would use the bathroom and leave the door open where the baby would crawl in and the son didn't know the baby was crawling on the floor. So, the bucket should not have not been left on the floor
As a new parent these are really helpful and teaching me how to prevent accidents especially the episode where the little girl took her older sister medicine
My aunt was almost on this show. She was interviewed and everything. She choked on a donut while on a school bus and nearly died. The bus driver saved her. The only reason she wasn't on the show was because the typical technique for choking (idk how to spell it Im not gonna try) didn't work so he held her upside down and smacked her on the back and that saved her. Odd that caused the show to decide not to let her on it.
I wish they would make awareness that if the hymelic maneuver (however you spell it) doesn’t work, they should try that. My brother was little and began choking on a life saver. My mom picked him up by his feet and did the same thing. It saved his life. If your aunt was on this show it would be a great way to show this.
@@KevinLyons-gn7eu I don't really speak to her anymore so I honestly don't know. She is in her 40s now and it happened when she was in early grade school
ThisIsTurok1 for the parents to read Because babies and little kids and when I say little I mean like three and four anyways they can't read that some kids can but not most of them and especially not a baby people are basically expecting a little baby to read
I was actually at this taping and have a LOT of tidbits about this. The house was actually on 5th and Mary street in Lebanon Oregon. I was across the street in a yellow House, (You won't see me in this video.) The house was owned by The Lenhardts.(You will see them in this video.) I think the baby Playing Cierra was named Nelix or Felix......I dunno......the ending of the video they were at the Lebanon Skate Center which is now closed.......That's all i have.
The baby playing Cierra is named Phoenix, my son. I got to hide in the bathroom shower with the camera guy and call him to crawl to me. I also think the baby doll they used was creepy!
Did anyone else notice how many scoops of formula this woman put in that bottle, lol I kept saying to her stop messing with that formula woman, your baby is in trouble as I was biting my nails. I know it was a reenactment , it just made me freak a bit.
Back in 1986 when I was 17 years old and in high school I used to mow lawns for hire. While at the 🏠 of one of my customers and inside talking with them, I 👀 one of the little girls from another 🏠 in the neighborhood come onto the property and go onto the backyard. In that back yard wad the 🏊 and knowing that little 👧 was going into a dangerous situation, I spoke ☝ and let the 👨 and his wife know what had happened. They got the little 👧 out of the backyard before anything serious happened. I did not want her to fall into the 🏊 and drown.
I know it was an accident, but as a parent, if you know your child has a tendency to be "independent" then you should at least try to find a way to make them stay put. Like put them in a high fenced play pen or gateway on the bedroom door like they do on the tops/bottoms of stair cases. Furthermore, if you had a feeling that your child could go into the bathroom then why not put the bucket higher up out of reach? It's like a secondary precautionary safety measure, considering her son just left the door open like that. Just saying...
Pookie D. I know I was just saying that the situation could have been prevented a lot of different ways, such as the mom putting the bucket on the sink or taking it with her. But in reality, it was an accident.
no, these things don't happen to everybody. in fact, it never happens to people who watch their babies. you're not supposed to leave babies unattended. it's not a "superpower", it's really basic care.
fruit bat 🍒🦇 Oh, get off your holy throne and knock off your bullshit! Are you seriously trying to tell everyone that you're perfect? That you do no wrong? Never made a stupid mistake? Are you even a parent? All it takes is a split second for a child to get hurt! You can turn your back for just a moment and disaster can strike! It's impossible to have your eyes glued to your kid 24-7! Don't try and bullshit us by saying your eyes never leave your child. You never sleep? You carry your kid into the bathroom and sit her on your lap as you take a shit? You shower with her, hold her as you shave, have sex( if you do that you should be in jail!) work, take out the trash, drive with her in your lap( again, jail) and virtually everything else in life is done glued to your kid....all while making sure to never blink either???! If you're claiming that this is what you do then you're a fat, disgusting, deranged liar! Not possible! No parent can be Jesus! Anything can happen in a literal blink of an eye no matter how perfect you try to be! We are humans and we make mistakes. Including YOU! Things this bad might not happen to everybody, but they do happen and they happen a lot! Less serious things happen to everyone though at some point, and it happens to mothers who watch their children as closely as they can! It's impossible to prevent everything! I knew a woman who thought just like you and always judged other mother's. She was perfect! Everyone should emulate her! Then one evening her family was coming over for a special dinner, so she got dressed up and put on her little diamond stud earrings. The baby was in the room with her cooing happily in her crib as she got ready, because she of course had to keep an eye glued to her 24-7, right? That's what good mom's do! She bent over the crib and kissed her, probably took her pulse and counted each breath she took, you know, be as neurotic as possible....and then stood up when she heard family come in through the front door. Her 10 year old niece was obsessed with the baby and almost immediately came running upstairs looking for her. Mom was back to primping and posing in the mirror as her niece came in to see the baby. That's when the little girl freaked out and yelled that the baby looked blue! In short, the back of her earring had come off making it so the earring fell out and into the crib when she bent over! The baby put it in her mouth cause that's what babies do and wound up choking on it! That same kind of thing happened to my brother when his baby son was learning to crawl. At some point my brother had accidentally dropped a tiny blood pressure pill into the carpet and didn't notice. His son found it and put it in his mouth. Took a split second! My point, in case you haven't gotten it by now is that shit happens!!!!!! Stop sitting in judgement of others lest you be judged too! Unless you've developed a way to not blink, sleep, shit and basically be human, then youre not glued to your kid.
Or it's a coincidence that basically doesn't prove jack s*** what would happen if the baby died at 3:16 will that still be God's plan kind of a sick God don't you think to be killing babies but then again whatever God does is perfect
chemicals under the bathroom sink, babies in a room alone, mop water with bleach outside of tub... 80s/90s in a nutshell. this child was very and i mean very lucky!
The door was closed to where the bucket was but one of the older kids went in to use the bathroom and didn't close it back. I do agree that there should of been gates up especially for the room that the babies were in so they couldn't get out.
This is why you always pay attention to children and babies, but I will give to them a little bit because Thanksgiving can be very difficult when you are trying to pay attention to your children but you can't do everything
I use Mop & Glow when mopping not bleach with babies I would wait till I am ready to clean to fill the bucket then when I would finish dump it out immediately. I would do it for 2 reasons 1 because I can’t see well 2 for the child’s safety so there is no temptation
gymnast4life 232 women went to work places and broke apart traditional large families. If she didn't leave them unattended sometimes they would starve lol
I was thinking the same thing, that probably was their biggest mistake here. They really should not have had the babies playing alone in the bedroom like that, somebody should have been there with them. Even one of the older kids would have been better than nobody. Had it been 3 or 4 year old children, they could have probably let them play alone together in the room. But not babies, there are just way too many risks. I was just thinking of all the dangers that could have been in that room alone. The babies could have put something in their mouths & choked. They could have pulled down a piece of furniture on top of them. They could have found an electrical wire and started playing with. Even putting a blanket over their head could have suffocated them. I’m not trying to say it was the mother’s fault because it really was not, it was an accident. But it was a mistake to leave the babies unattended, which I’m sure they learned from. Guess that’s why people baby-proof everything in their house now and usually make sure the baby is with them when they’re busy like this.
I would just kept the bleach inside the tub and close the sliding shower door or somewhere out of reach because babies are going to crawl and be curious it could have been prevented.
Accidents happen. The best childproofing us child supervision. Children can make anything or circumstance dangerous. I am the oldest of five siblings, a mom, a nurse, and a nanny. I have pretty much seen it all. Children will be children ..supervision makes all the difference when it comes to safety.
