Mr. Walter Hunley...you're a great man sir. Maybe you might not think you're a hero...but i do!! In this day and age, where many people don't want to get involved, they don't think it's "their" business. Sir, you made it YOUR business to get involved, and help someone in need! Thank you! Thank God for people like you!
28 years have passed since this happened so Rena is 32 and Janelle is 45 now. This happened on a Friday and two days before my mother’s birthday. When I saw Rena get strangled, I was worried that she would run out of air and not survive. But she did. I’m sure she can never say “Thank you” enough to Walter for what he did for her because if he wasn’t there, she wouldn’t be alive today.
I know!!!!!!!!! I was 11 when this episode aired and we could still really trust adults then.. we could trust a lot of ppl then. It seems that times changed (for the worst) almost overnight
@@oliviak2963 He probably was thinking back of the days where he used to play around having fun. When I would go to a local park for my walks, I would watch the children play in the jungle gym and just think back on the days I used to play in that park as a little girl
Children do need to listen when someone tells them something.. Thank GOD Mr. Hunley was there. My oldest daughter told her younger sister that they would go outside as soon as they get dress. Rena is hard headed and does what she wants to do. She just ran outside... she would do things that would endanger herself. She is older and wiser now thank GOD.
It takes a special breed of person to do what he did. Most people (today especially) woulda just gone and banged on houses nearby until they found the dogs owner, and told them, he didn't hesitate to free her first.
If you have a small child, don't leave them alone in the house, they are going to find trouble or end up injured themselves, definitely when they are under ten or five,
It’s been 24 years since this happened so Rena is 28 now. I’m sure she’ll always hold a place in her heart for Walter. I bet she’s an animal doctor just like she wanted to be. I wonder what she’s up to today.
Mom kinda annoyed me saying oh Raina knows now not to play with the dogs while they're tethered... I don't want her to be scared of dogs cause she's a animal lover.... Almost like it was the dogs fault. The fault lay in the fact that such a small child was outside playing with 2 large dogs unsupervised. Thank God that man who rescued her was a good guy and not a predator.
Alexandra Vargas right, “I don’t want her to be scared of dogs because she’s an animal lover, so I’ll teach her living beings need to be chained up and called property to be owned.” Uh huh...
A similar situation happened to my brother when he was about five. Our family dog was tried up to a tree and when she ran around playing with us, he got caught between the leash and the tree causing rope like burns to his neck. Luckily, he was ok.
Safety first when you walk 🐕s when they're tethered in the yard. Puppies and kittens are cute 👶🏻 animals. 👍🏻 if you agree with my comment in times of getting into a very tight situation.
Well of course, she probably thought her younger sister was still asleep and thought she had loads of time. It never occurs to anyone something could be amiss unless something amiss has already happened to them. Now she knows
I feel so bad for the big sister. I could be wrong, but to me it sounds like the mom left while both kids were asleep. How could the older sister have known that she was supposed be watching the younger girl. Mom shouldn't have put her in that position.
My young daughter did not listen to her sister who told her to lets get dressed first then we could go outside. she just ran out while her sister was getting dress. There always two sides to a story remember that. the mother Jeanette
Katie Lemelin Exactly! She shouldn’t have left without them knowing. Also, you definitely cannot blame the dogs for what happened, it was an accident, it wasn’t their fault they didn’t know what to do either. Thank god she was ok though
Kids should be extra cautious while playing with the dogs. If they're tied up, never played with them which can accidentally strangle you to death depending on the dog's behavior
Maddison Pharis child,* pitbull,* their* intruders* but NO! Not at all! Their nature is to love and help and please, but unfortunately, some use that to make them hurt and kill others!
Did you miss the part where they said they were both sleeping when her mother left? Younger one woke up first, ran outside to play. Older one woke up later without any knowledge of her sister already being up an outside.
If you are going to leave a small child alone with your Teenager. Wake up your teen and let them know. The teen could very well hear something and think mom will deal with it and never realize mom isn't home
It’s been 30 years since this happened so Rena is 34 and Janelle is 47. At the time this happened, I was 11 3/4 turning 12 and my brother Andrew was 9 1/2 turning 10. We were living in Charlotte, North Carolina and were both at school. He was in third grade and I was in fifth and it had been 11 months since we moved to North Carolina, and it was going to be my mother’s first birthday there.
I say that big sister fault because she didn't outside watching her little sister if she did watch her little sister then she wouldn't have been hurt in the first place
At 4:43---small part missing / skipped....Rena's mom wished to thank Mr Hunley and he comes to the front of the house with his hat in his hand and says "I apologize for cutting your rope"-that part is missing!!!....Whoops!!!
This reminds me of The Summer of 1987 ( I am not blood related to my Parents or to my little Brother in this story but I am blood related to the Sister in the story) I had just gotten home from a Shopping day with Mom and I see Dad with my Sister I ask him Dad wanna see what I got He said Sure but ur Sister needs to tell u something but before My Sister said anything Dad blurts out the whole story of how Sister almost killed our 3 yrold Brother He was riding his trike and Sister grabs my jump rope and puts it around his neck Dad caught her and shoves her into the house and as punishment had to do the dishes alone.I don't remember if Brother came to me or did I go to him but he was telling me if u blame urself don't Sister did it not u. True I wanted my own room but not like that. I never found out what made Sister do that the video must have triggered that memory
You know me and one of my friends was watching the episode about the rifle and he he literally said I would teach my my child have done safety at a young age like three or four he goes I would rather have looks from people at the gun range from bringing my kid there then to me to go take a nap and him accidentally shoot himself because he like the nice shiny toy
William Smith I think you're creepy for even letting your mind go there. Get some help. Maybe you shouldn't watch your daughter or nieces play cause it's too weird
