The little girl got the phone and extended her arm like...OK come get it....bless her little heart lol.....glad the kid was OK. If could happen to anyone
Considering that this kid could have lost his tongue to frostbite, I think calling 911 was the best decision. This episode really goes to show that even small problems can become really bad if they aren’t taken care of.
To top it off he's being called "ma'am" LOL! Poor kid it's like insult to injury 😂 Talk about a rough day . Kudos to the police though for getting in and helping the kid out
What a brave little girl. She may’ve been two at the time, but she got the phone for her uncle and tried to let the police in. No wonder she was made an honorary police officer
I'm from altoona my sister went to school with this kid! She said he got wickedly made fun of afterward but he said he did it on pursposw to get on tv I dont the truth but I do remember the night it aired. We all had popcorn and was gathered atound the tv. We were laughing so loud the neighbors down the street heard us! And we heard them! Lol
that kid tried to lick the gross frosty ice cuz it looked like snow and he knows it purposely...how far can u reach back into the freezer of a small freezer...this isn't the lion the witch and the wardrobe from chronicles of narnia
I did this as a kid. I just waited until I drooled enough hot drool to release my tongue. Thank god no one knew. I was in the basement, I could’ve still been stuck 23 years later 😂
Melissa is a real hero because he Dwayne be stuck forever and probably no help would arrive so people are in our lives for a reason no accidents great job Melissa smart little girl.
I had to use the 911 system before back in 1996!It was the day after christmas & I was working!Someone had a seizure & went down on the floor & hit her head!She was out & about shopping & had to go to the hospital ER!I hope she's doing much better now!I had stayed on the phone with the 911 dispatcher until help arrived!I had instructed another co-worker apply pressure to her head with a towel as per the instructions coming from the 911 dispatcher!I've also had to call 911 more than once because I get sick from time to time(pancreatitis)& have to go to the hospital myself!I've had to go by ambulance!It was my first time on using the 911 system & it was SCARY to me,but I didn't panic & had remained calm!That 2 year old girl was so very brave!She didn't even cry!I've not had my tongue frozen to a freezer at all before,but that teen was trying to tell the officer where to come!
Today's the 28th anniversary of when this happened so Melissa is 30 and Duane is 43 now. I'm sure Duane can never give Melissa enough thanks. Note to self- don't stick out your tongue in the freezer.
This 911 call is PRICELESS. When I was young my tongue got frozen to several things. Didn't have to call for help. Precious memories when we were young. 🙄👍💕
The 2 year old is one smart young lady !!! Of all the children in this series, Melissa is the cutest of them all. If she were just a little older then she might have been able to get him some warm water to thaw the ice.
I remember watching this as a kid. Then my dumb ass decided to try it and see if it'd really get stuck. We had an old style fridge with a metal freezer that you had to actually defrost. It was recently defrosted. My tongue stuck to it and I didn't want to get caught being an idiot so pulled it loose. Lost the tip of my tongue for my dumbassery that day. I'm one of the reasons they put the 'don't try this at home' warning on shows. 😂😂😂
This young man who's babysitting his 2 year niece, Melissa looks a little bit like Harry Potter and/or his late dad, James Potter. LOL! There's quite a resemblance without the lightning bolt scar on his forehead. Tongues and freezers don't mix when you're babysitting a niece or a nephew in this dude's shoes. Thumbs up if you noticed it onscreen. Hooray for Melissa's uncle for calling 911 when his tongue got stuck in the freezer.
That baby girl is so smart she tried to pull a brother off and then she pulled a chair... AND THEN SHE PICKED UP THE PHONE 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾. This little girl is going to be in college by the time she is 14 years old
I'm thinking he had never seen that movie or he may have knew better. Lol My son was 4 when he got his tongue stuck on a propane tank at -20. He watch the Christmas Story last winter for the first time and I had a good laugh at him now that he is 12. I told my son, "see this was you when you were 4 kicking and screaming!" haha
You're not the only one who's done that. My exhusband niece did that too on a juice bottle. We'r couldn't believe it. But, she's ok too. Her dad cut off the juice can & she was fine.
For me because of a christmas story, but it doesnt snow down here and I wanted to try it so I tbought i would test in on tbe freezer, but then i saw this episode. Nope not doing it guess it can happen.
@@gamechamp85 It also does not snow down here where I am (South Africa). Apparently some people have got their tongues stuck on frozen street poles too. It can and does happen quite often. 🙈
How the heck did that officer not understand atleast half of what he was saying. I understood him very well. Everytime he said Lexington Avenue or that his tongue was stuck, I heard it.
One time when I was walking to school in the winter time, I saw a metal bicycle rack at my school, I had never stuck my tongue to a cold metal surface so I decided to do it and of course my tongue got stuck to it, so I gently pulled it off, but still my entire tongue was numb and bleeding. Me and my curios brain
not many people try the "rub your fingers in the tongue area" to warn it up and be able to loosen it up ( in cases where you can't reach any warm liquid ) do not know if the girl would had been smart enough to follow instructions, but the uncle could have asked her to bring him glasses with warm water in it if he had thought about it
my teacher watched this show, turns out these kids lived in the neighbor hood they were in and the teachers grandfather owned a champs sports, and that kid walked into the champs and everyone was pointing at the kid because they were famous for getting stuck on ice in a fridge
This isn't related but I was in third grade and this kid was running up and down the hallway puking and the teacher was chasing him with a trash can. Nothing bad happend but it was just funny
He was very lucky that little girl was there and that she wasn't just a little bit younger. Much younger and she might not have been able to understand and follow the instructions.
We live in Alaska and this one time my then 4 year old was being a brat and it was -20 outside. He had on full winter gear and -20 really isn't that cold, it's a dry cold. I left him on the porch and told him when he calms down he can come back into the house when he chooses. 1 minute later I hear him screaming bloody murder. I ran outside where I left him on the porch and he had licked the propane tank that was sitting by the door. I told him don't rip it off I'll get a cup of cold water to help it release. I ran back outside with the water and poured it and freed him. To this day, 8 years now, I have no clue why he did it and neither did he. Lol
I UNDERSTOOD HIM THE FIRST TIME HE SAID HIS TONGUE WAS STUCK IN THE FREEZER. OR DO YOU THINK IT'S BECAUSE WE ARE WATCHING IT AND WE KNEW WHAT HE WAS GOING TO SAY BECAUSE WE'RE LOOKING AT IT? IDK...BUT I DO KNOW LIL MELISSA IS SUCH A CUTIE. I THOUGHT THAT WAS HER BROTHER. WELL HE HAS A BRAVE AND SMART NIECE :-)
My brother and I were dying when we watched this when we were kids, watching this. We'd always say "MAH THUNG ITH THTUCK TO THA FWEETHA!" Also, can you imagine a 911 operator admitting to hanging up on a caller, because they were difficult to understand, today?
When I was a little girl about 4 or 5 I use to be so scared of this show. One time I had a nightmare about this exact episode and I was trembling so bad, scared and in tears that my aunt and her daughters had to sleep next to me and console me till I fell asleep. We all slept in that bed and no one got to watch the show again. I couldn't even hear the intro sound I would be so freaked out. Lol
