That was so sweet to watch! Chickens are so precious and are so much smarter than people think. I never realized that chickens would or could display emotions until 2002 when my husband and I lived on my grandparents' farm for a few months. All of their animals were long gone, except for Rooster and Hen, and let me tell you, they were definitely an old married couple! It was hilarious to watch them interact every day, especially in the morning when they'd come for their breakfast. They were so cute!

I can so relate to this video. I had four of my son's parrots in my care. Unfortunately two of the older ones (one was a conure and one a rescue Amazon) recentky died. BUT my ALSO ELDERLY (about 60 in human years) green cheeked conure suddenly laid her first tiny egg. I was just as excited as this sweet lady. I love chickens in the NON-food sense, This adorable chicken obviously loves her human mom.

I couldn't help but cry too when Stephanie cried after beautiful Black Beauty laid her 1st egg b/c knowing that your precious baby is finally free from stress & illness is truly a glorious & rewarding feeling... I'm so happy that Black Beauty has been nursed back to health & for being able to lay eggs - eggs that are great & commendable in size! ❤❤❤

Never ever thought a chicken story would have me in tears, but here I am. All beings have souls. Thanks to this lovely woman for helping Black Beauty feel loved enough to heal her soul and gift her with eggs.

It's an amazing feeling when animals run to greet you. Many years ago I worked in my mates workshop. Yard was full of cats. I love cats. There was one in particular that no one could get near they called Mumma. Tiny thing, very skittish, lost an eye to a fight. Every time I worked with him I'd come out with chicken, tuna, whatever I could. All the other cats would come to me, but Mumma took a lot of work. I finally got her trust and every time I walked into the yard and whistled cats would run out from everywhere to greet me. First was always her. She was a beautiful little thing. From that point on I became known as Mufasa. I miss that kitty

Not only did she lay an egg, but she laid a VERY beautiful egg !! 🤩 Usually old, sick or weak hens lay small or soft shell eggs. Large strong eggs are proof of well-being and good nutrition with enough calcium intake 👍🏼 Lovely fluffy lady !

My grandmother had a pet chicken that hung out with her in the house! Allows me to somewhat understand your caring so much for your precious feathered gal.
