This frightened dog has every right to be afraid! She was probably so mistreated and did so wrong!! But this courageous woman was determined to help Mia be a friendly doggy!! She was successful!! Thank You for not giving up on Mia!! She is now a great doggy!!❤❤😊😊!!

She wasn't an "aggressive" dog, nor was she mad. She was terrified. Nor did she have to necessarily have bad experiences in her past to be this way. You can see this same reaction in dogs who have not been socialized who are suddenly abandoned by owners or who get lost on their own. The stress of being surrounded by everything strange & new is overwhelming.

@@c.james1 abandonment & getting lost is a bad experience, yes. But not nearly on the same level as abuse which people often assume when they see dogs behaving this way.

I like that there are people in the comments who know that a dog growling is not always an indication of anger. But can definitely mean the dog is afraid. It's sad that this dog was previously treated so badly that she was afraid of the very person who was trying to help her. But the woman who did help this adorable dog was so patient, persistent and dedicated. This was so sweet to see her persistence work out.

Yes, thank you. I adopted a dog who didn't trust me fully for a year. Now we are best friends and she loves me and I love her deeply, we learned to trust each other fully. Thank you again for not giving up❤❤❤❤

Some dogs growl because they're happy. They grumble when they're not and there is a huge difference between the 2. I really think that at 1:53, she's so happy that she's growling of excitement (too much emotion to handle).

This especially tugged at my heart because she looks just like one of my childhood dogs, a stray that wandered onto our property and never left. My dad wanted him gone so he got chased off but came back. Funny part is he ended up being my dad's dog. A couple years later another dog wandered onto our property and never left. It was a small 10 acre farm so there was lots of space for 3 dogs, an unknown number of cats.

The way she was still growling when eating the prized hot dog was priceless.
