We've been praying for Jay in his battle with cancer for months now. He has been fighting such a valiant fight. He HAS risen to the occasion of allowing God use his cancer as much as anybody I've ever heard of... Hearing him sing this and knowing that he will rise up permanently one of these days makes me weep with blessed hope all the more. We don't even know you but love you, Jay, Ali/girls.
I first heard this song on KEAR Family Radio in Oakland. Many a lonely night as I worked by myself in the 1990s this song was tremendously uplifting. I never knew who performed it until I saw this video. KEAR was the one station that played hymns and choral arrangements, a lot of them recorded from local churches.
They came to a church I attended 20 years ago. My son was six or seven. I helped sell their CDs at their table. We lived them so much. My son is married now and introduced them to his bride. I wish we could get them out to North Carolina
Knowing Jay is so close to death, and yet.... and yet.... his faith is stronger and his message more potent than ever... FOR THE LORD. This group is a revelation. Truly in their purpose and such a massive blessing. Thank you, Rescue. Thank you, Jay.
He'll make us broken bread and poured out wine Just to feed the needs of them If we bow on bended knee before the Lord (oh Lord) Why do they gather at the place where they see the Father's face And look intently as the leaders take their place As the service is begun they stand and sing the praise of One Who will be revealed by those who speak and sing His praise Who will rise and let the Father fill His words Who will rise, who will rise, to see the truth of Him be heard And who will rise, who will rise, and see the thousands to be fed Knowing to you the Lord has said, will you rise (will you rise) And I will rise (I will rise to the occasion) to the occasion (I will rise) I will rise from my knees and trust the Lord I will rise and run the race He's shown us I will (rise), I will rise and magnify the Lord (oh Lord) The people need to hear there's no need for fear We are here to share He is near to care The time has come to open to the One, His Son The Lord has called us in to show a life from sin can be redeemed by Him The cry of our hearts is their soul to win (to win, to win, to win) Repeat And I will rise (I will rise to the occasion) to the occasion (I will rise) I will rise from my knees and trust the Lord I will rise I will rise and magnify the Lord (I will rise, I will rise for my Lord, I will rise, I will rise from bended knee) I will rise (I will rise, I will rise for my Lord, I will rise, I will rise from bended knee) I will rise (I will rise, I will rise for my Lord, I will rise, I will rise from bended knee) I will rise (I will rise, I will rise, I will rise) He'll make us broken bread and poured out wine Just to feed the needs of them If we only bow our knees before the Lord Scriptural Reference: "Do not gloat over me, my enemy! Though I have fallen, I will rise. Though I sit in darkness, the Lord will be my light." Micah 7: 8
One thing I noticed about Tim Storm being a very low bass, he does not try to sing above the other parts. He is always quiet in the background. That is a very humble thing to do.
