I am a 80 year old woman and I really enjoy your channel. You seem like my neighbor down the street. I check often to see if you have posted anything. You and your daughter remind me so much of me and my dad. When I was young I wanted a horse so much. Unfortunately that was not a option. My dad rescued a horse that was on his way to slaughter. My dad saw something he knew was extraordinary. He was badly injured but we felt we could help him. After many months of care we had a beautiful gaited horse. I went from a girl without hope to a girl showing my beautiful horse to bringing home blue ribbons. Thanks for your channel and making it possible for me to relive a special time in my life through your family.
Dearest Ruth, you are truly blessed with such beautiful, warm memories of your youth, your Dad & your wonderful rescue horse. You must have been so very proud of him, the work, the training & the unconditional love that the two of you had with each other. A lovely BASKET FULL OF BLUE RIBBONS CERTAINLY HAS IT'S OWN SPECIAL MEMORIES AS WELL! THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH FOR SHARING THEM WITH US, BLESS YOUR BEAUTIFUL HORSE LOVING SOUL💜🐎💜
Jewel is taking the saddle ho-hum. She did connect with Becca, but Jewel is not broke. And I agree that starting her from scratch will be fair to her. Give her a chance to think....understand and accept proper handling so bad habits do not enter the picture.
It looks such a beautiful clean well cared beautiful ranch those horses 🐎 are lucky to have you all caring for them ,love watching you all doing your caring and work.
Magnolia is going to grow into a beautiful horse! She’s beautiful now but will become a real stunner. Jewel will respond to your gentle touch and training. I’m sure the auction trauma affected both these girls very much. God bless you all and many thanks for sharing your life and horses with us. ❤❤🙏❤❤
Magnolia is a beautiful name for that little filly. She is as stunning as a magnolia in full bloom. It is a wonderful thing to watch J R and Becca working with both Jewel and Magnolia in such a soft and gentle way. It reminds me very much if my father who was a true horse whisperer. Any time he got on a horse, it came immediately to attention. All he had to do was just sit in the saddle. It was like they were so proud. I love watching you. It brings tears to my eyes. Keep on doing what you do. It's heartwarming.
I'm late mentioning this, but realizing the auction info about Jewel being "broke" to ride was wrong, makes it even more important that the pair ended up with you. Another buyer might have sent them through another sale barn upon realizing she was not trained to be riden.
I am so impressed with Becca’s skills, she truly loves horses and they are learning to love her in return. It’s a testament to JR that her skills are such that he feels comfortable turning the horses over to her this early in the game.
Becca is definitely her father's daughter! It's such a pleasure watching you guys work as a family. JR you have to be in a lot of pain, yet still convey such patience with the horses. Thank you for sharing and for the lesson!
Magnolia is so beautiful! Perfect name. My Grandpa was a horseman. Clydesdale for farming & a beautiful Palomino for pleasure. I love your soft natural way. Thanks for loving them!
Jewel is lucky to get professional help. A lot of owners would become frustrated expecting a fully trained horse. Magnolia is going to be a real beauty! 🥰🐴💕❤️👍👍
I see the baby already has 4 beat gait steps in her trot. With her blue eyes, going to be very striking to see, as she grows up and will be so much fun to ride with her 4 beat natural gait.
Hi everyone 👋🏼 My name is Meg. This is my second video. The first one was when you bought them at the auction. I was so excited and happy for you guys when God blessed you with them. I just had a good feeling about them getting a good home. I’m a new subscriber as well . Y’all are so sweet and soft with them, I love it . I’m happy to have found your channel. 🥰😃💕❤️💕
When I see the beauty of Magnolia and her momma enjoying life on your farm, and then compare it to what they might have had to face if you hadn’t bought them, it makes my heart happy. Knowing you folks are out there in the world, caring for animals that really depend on you and others like you, it gives me hope for the world. Your children and their children’s children will carry this beauty forward for new generations to see. Bless you all.
Hackamore? Also, she could just be real distracted cause she's too worried about her baby, possibly. Just guessing without hands on working with her but it sure sounds like she may have a pretty good clue about a saddle & girth strap.😅💜Maybe a long time unworked, so just treat her like she's not broke at all to be safe. BEAUTIFUL NAME - FOR A BEAUTIFUL BABY GIRL! - 'HOMESTEAD MAGNOLIA' - SO BE IT!!! Absolutely fearless running around the pasture, beautiful Magnolia & mama Jewel!
Love the name magnolia 💞 She is more beautiful every time we see her. Momma is beautiful too. Thank you for being so kind to the horses. Glad you're feeling better
❤ Magnolia is just heaven scent. She's gorgeous!!! Mama Jewel is very beautiful too. Out of bad situations come good situations at times...Lord bless all of you and the horses and the entire farm.
Mom, you give the best narration and explanations. You three are quite the team. I love the smell of cold mornin air, coffee, bacon, and road apples lolol. Lovely life you guys live and you’re girl must make you damn proud 🫶🏼🙌🏼
Miss Nattie has a very compelling spirit about her which I was going to comment about over a week ago. After seeing her Father I can see why, golly what a handsome Dude !! She is full of grace and honor and I'm so happy she has a home with y'all. Now I can't wait for JR to take her to the crick this summer! I wish I had about an hour of Nattie running on tape so I could fall asleep listening to her. Blessings to you all!❤
These 2 have had such a traumatic start...its all about building trust. They must have wondered what was going on when they were taken to the barn. Hooefully next time theyll be more relaxed, knowing theyre going back to that lovely pasture once their lesson is over. Thanks guys for giving these 2 a home and settling them up for a positive future
I’m so glad that she’s in the right hands to relearn all the things she needs to. I think she’s going to be a willing horse once she realizes how it is that you work with her. I love the name you chose for her.
So glad you named the filly homestead Magnolia (Maggie) for short!!! She is a beautiful little girl!!! Happy is also a beautiful little girl!!! Becca is so much like dad and really love's working with the horses!!! 🐴💞😘
Magnolia is a perfect name for her. She is quite beautiful. I enjoy watching the way Becca and JR work with the horses. The horses look happy and healthy, because y'all love them and are good with them. Thank you for the videos.
Wow thank you. This kind of interaction does even more than face value. I recently learned that the RU-vid algorithm pushes our channel more because they “RU-vid “ gets a cut of your donation so then we get more growth and drives our RPM up. So you are awesome thank you!!!
That's a "don't get on the horse yet" horse. Safer to do from scratch. Looks like she'll be smart, just doesn't know, and the bracing came from somewhere. You came up with the same thoughts. Liked the foal training. Magnolia is a nice name.
Becca is definitely a horse whisperer!! The horses all seem to be very calm around her. Little Magnolia is going to be gorgeous! As she was strutting about, she reminded me of how Bob was in the video just a couple of weeks ago. I hope you'll keep both Jewel and Magnolia, but I know you can't keep 'em all. Another beautiful palomino would be nice though. 😊 Hope you all have a great weekend!
Oh how very beautiful video today “Homestead Magnolia” is a beautiful name for this darling baby filly. Thank God you got her and her mother. They are both doing so well. Jewel looks so good. Bless you all at Homestead🙏🙏
Pretty name for baby. I have a soft spot for her, given her beginnings that was hard to watch her the day you went to buy her. Poor thing but thankfully, her life did a 180 when you rescued her. Still have a big ole soft spot for her.
Awww....Mongolia is so precious...love the shots of her running in the field. She is so happy you rescued her and her mama. Thank you for sharing them with us. God bless you and your family ❤❤❤
Thank you so much for this update and for giving this beautiful mare and foal a loving supportive place to land!! Beautiful name for a beautiful filly!! Great job with the training of Jewel and Magnolia!!
Both mother and baby are lovely. Baby is so beautiful, adorable and playful. They both are in very good hands. You ssaved at the auction. So happy to see that they doing so well. Magnolia is a beautiful name for baby. Enjoy all those beautiful moments with them. Good luck tp you people. Wish you alll the best Lots of love Regards from Cyprus❤🐴🐎
I am not a horse person but love your channel. I have a new appreciation for all the work and expense of owning horses. You have such a nice family and look forward to watching your videos. ❤
It is beautiful to watch your family all pull together and enjoy helping these horses grow and develop. This is such a wonderful example of family life and I wish our world had more of it. Thank you so much for sharing this with all of us.❤
Love that foal! Love your horse set-up, also. I was raised with horses & a dad with no patience- it WAS "breaking" horses back then. Just love the newer, pat8ent way of "training".
Great name for the little filly.... Homestead Magnolia! nice ring to it... JR, you looking better each video, try not to overdo. Still lots of prayers coming your way for a speedy recovery. Thanks for sharing y'all.
Homestead Magnolia is a beautiful foal. Trained with patience and love she will be a magnificent horse when she matures. She also appears very smart, a quick learner. I think she’ll be easy to train and respond well. Jewel, as you know needs love and patience. Start from square one in training. I don’t think she has completely reached her trust threshold. I think she’s still traumatized from the auction. Bless you for saving them.
It’s so refreshing to watch your videos and hear all your clean and wholesome talks and you all provide a brief escape from the negative junk in this world! Thank you!
Love the name, Homestead Magnolia. Love the little filly that carries it. I am so glad the Rosa Family rescued Jewel and her foal! 💓 Wishing the best for all! -ACD
Your video today was so fun to watch. I remember when you rescued Oliver. He is a miracle in my eyes. I am 75 yr old granny from Oregon. Always loved horses. Your place e is beautiful. God Bless
I grew up on a Quarter Horse ranch and honestly do not know much about fox trotters. All your horses are beautiful and Oliver is actually why I started following you. Wanted to say that Magnolia has an amazing confirmation for a foal so young. looking forward to watching her grow and loving the channel.
She (magnolia) does look good doesn’t she? I had a Vaquero King mare when I was younger ❤ will always love quarter horses but I also see the allure of gaiter horses.
Perfect Name for your filly-it Really Fits her!!! Naming the babies is Fun, lol!!! I’ve got a feeling this is the beginning of a Great Journey ahead-especially for Becca... Looking Forward to it!!! God Bless All, 😇💕
I'm new here as of today. 1st thing I watched was the auction where you found Jewel & baby Magnolia. Years ago I had a cat I'd named Magnolia. Loved the clips of her running. She is so pretty & I love the way she runs....so gracefil & spirited.
Yes! A horse that’s afraid responds to love. “Perfect love casts out fear” When they experience your love for them- they Trust you; Becca is so good at recognizing this 😍 Kathleen
I love the name you chose for this little girl! It's really appropriate in every way. It will be such fun to watch her grow, and to see her mama develop her own knowledge and character!
Love the meaning of the name of Jewel's filly... Magnolia! Perfect! They are both beautiful! Enjoyed the training session and it's quite apparent that Bekha has learned valuable lessons from her daddy... Blessings to all... P.S. Over 64k subscribers now... Congratulations! 🦋💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🦋
I wonder if her neck is out of alignment ( needs a chiropractor) and that’s why she goes a bit crazy with the neck flex. It’s interesting to see how a horse that has no training can be way more willing then a horse that has “some” training. Love you guys!!
I LOVE watching you all with your horses. I love the gentle manner you use. When JR talks about not using “broke” as a word, he also doesn’t use it as a practice. He isn’t harsh and doesnt “break the spirit” of a horse. I love watching him teach a horse to cooperate with him. Im sad to hear that JR got hurt. I fell 10 months ago and broke both arms by the shoulder and 4 ribs. One arm shattered so bad its taken 2 surgeries to fix it, and a few pieces of bone had to be removed because they died. Im now sporting a scar from shoulder to elbow. When people ask about it, I tell them they should see the other guy! 🤣🤣 Praying for JR with understanding on his rib stuff. At 10 months healing, They are finally not as tender and can be touched, or bumped and it isnt agonizing.
Bless you Beth, that's some fall! You must have been in agony. I'm sending healing vibes your way. I hope you can get back to normal activities as soon as possible. Love and light ✨️ 🙏🏻🌈
I am 71 and as soon as I turned 18 I got the travel bug. I wanted to wait before deciding on further schooling. I was living in Massachusetts at that age. When a friend and I made the first cross country driving trip we were in awe of the wide open spaces in the midwest, the beauty of Utah and the parks there, the utter beauty of the Colorado rockies and as we traveled into Arizona from the north we couldn't believe how beautiful it was. I guess we thought the whole state was a desert! We camped along the Verde river for weeks just under the Mogollon Rim and it was a real treat, so much wildlife, elk, deer, coyotes, and the weird Javelina creatures we thought were wild pigs. Turns out they are members of the peccary family distantly related to hippos and wild pigs. As we made our way to the Southern part of AZ down to the border beyond Tucson we stayed at a ranch. There was a small rodeo type thing going on and there were numerous Mexican cowboys showing how they broke a feral horse. BROKE was the word for sure! I was horrified at the things they did, throwing them down on the ground by roping them like cattle, was the worst. I now know that they were broke and their spirit was broken probably forever and I am sure they would always be distrustful of humans after that. So ya, broke was a way in the old days and still is in some less civilized places. The old western movies with horses being brought into a big pen, never been touched and tacked up and cowboys just getting on them and getting bucked and thrown and the horses getting hurt........that is broke. So its okay if you say broke as long as the younger generations of horse lovers know it does literally mean BROKE! I wish all the great ways to train horses had been as access easy to get a hold of in my day, no internet so books and wishes is how we did it. The pressure and release is such a great way to gain their trust and most horses GET IT fairly quickly. I think this mare either had someone that did not know the correct things to do, or she is green broke at best and well, her foal is in there and I bet she was losing focus because she did not know if her baby was safe.
