Idk why you say they know people are there to help. Seems like most are incapable of understanding that and nothing about this deer's behavior indicated it knew what was happening at all. In fact, it struggled against them and ran off asap. I also don't know why it matters. Just like a child doesn't know their parent is helping them, many animals don't know when we're helping them. Her mom left her when she was 41/2 years of age. My husband left after 41 years of marriage and my son i kick him out when she was around 6 and fount burnt foil under his bed and that was hard but i had to do it.
